We left Lincoln on December 21 at 10:30 a.m., in-between snow storms, and headed to Wichita, KS. The campground was ice covered, but drivable and very nice.
Our next stop was a campground between Ardmore and Marietta, OK. This campground was nice, too, right off Interstate 35. The storm continued its path right behind us and we left early the next day for Austin, TX.
It was December 24 when we arrived in Austin, TX. We called our son, Ric, who was staying in Austin on business for his company. We shopped on Christmas Eve for last minute gifts (haven't done that for a long time).
On Tuesday, we called Greg Gissler, an acquaintance from the pool business days, who lives in Austin. He came over on Wednesday and we toured downtown Austin, the University of Texas, and Lake Travis. (sorry there are no pictures, Jim forgot to bring the camera!)
We left Austin and headed for New Braunfels, a small town about 30 miles north of San Antonio. This was the first place we lived after we were married (42 years ago)and we wanted to find the little house we had rented. It was still there, a new roof but otherwise pretty much the same.
While in the area we also visited the River walk in San Antonio
