SPORT - BUSHMANLAND

04 August 2000 - 25 August 2000

Sport

Located in the Northeast region of Namibia. This region is a 4,447,893 acres wilderness of woodlands, large baobab trees, seasonally inundated pans and open plains.

Sport is an excellent way of staying healthy, gaining self-confidence and self-worth. Yet many young Namibian do not have access to even basic sporting facilities or coaching. Working along side the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the Namibian National Sports Council, Raleigh is currently undertaking sports development projects in primary schools at various locations in Bushmanland. Venturers are involved in building sports facilities, and are helping to train local teachers in sports coaching methods, advise them as to how to set up and run clubs and hold competitions.
