I Had it All
I am in love with a lady
I met a long time ago
at a seaside resort
on the Gulf of Mexico.
She is a beautiful woman
with an intelligent mind;
a pleasure to be with
and a treasure to find.
At a small restaurant
at a table for two
we sat and we talked
and wondered what we should do.
I touched her hand
and then I knew
I could never forget her;
nor would I ever want to.
We walked and held hands
and watched the sun set.
We strolled in the moonlight
and thanked God we had met.
The days were too short
and time went by fast.
We lived in different worlds
and this could' nt last.
But, for one short week ---
I had it all --
