~The Modern Day Cowgirl~
She stayed up late last night
sitting at the kitchen table in the quiet moonlight.
She was wondering how long it would be
before some profit she might see.
A lot of things need to be bought;
a lot of bargins will have to be sought.
Now the darkness is breaking for morn
and it is time to get dressed for the day.
She lingers over coffee and then checks on the kids.
then walks to the truck and loads up the gear.
Backs up to the trailer and loads her horse,
and drives off to the back pasture full of remorse.
She wonders if she were really a good wife
and made the right decisions that affect her life.
She will make it alone but sometimes she does wonder
if she just might have made another bad blunder.
But, now the sun has risen and a new day is here,
with a smile on her face she knows she has nothing to fear.
Sometimes it seems we get tangled with fate;
but, at the end of each road we see a new gate.
So we just live each moment and hope for the best
and try to understand we are just here for the test.
