Luciano Leal

Luciano Leal born in about 1840 in San Antonio, and was a nephew of capt. Manuel Leal, His father, Juan Francisco Leal being captain Leal's brother. Luciano's mother was Dolores Cuellar.

Juan Francisco and Dolores both appear in the records of Gigedo in 1856, a few years before the founding of Jiménez, Luciano may have been there as well. When the land grants are issued in 1870, both Luciano and Dolores Cuellar are on the list, but Juan Francisco is not. It is likely that she was a widow by this time.

Luciano married Teresa Flores in Piedras Negras on Sept. 29, 1884. She was the daughter of Tomas Flores Longoria and Micaela Cuellar, who were also in Gigedo at the same time as Luciano's parents. Eventually Tomas F. Longoria moves to Jimenez, appearing in 1870 signing as a witness for doña Juana de Arcos, widow of Damacio Galvan.
