I covered sports as a reporter and editor for the weekly newspapers of Current Publishing in southern Maine from December 2004 to August 2006. It was a wonderful experience and three of my stories won first-place awards from the Maine Press Association.

I also contributed a weekly column to a local newspaper in East Boston for a year, from September 2000 to August 2001. First called the EB Independent, it absorbed another local weekly and took its name: the EB Sun Transcript. Writing the column was also an excellent experience.
