TIP FROM THE TECH
Currently, phishing scams are the biggest culprit for identity theft. Unsuspecting users open an email that appears legit and asks for their personal information. Usually, that information is sent to a thief who then uses it to clean out accounts or steal your identity.

MY PORTFOLIO
Creating a website is more than putting colors, shapes, and words together. It takes ingenuity, creativity, and foresight. Some of the best practices I use when constructing a client's web site is looking to the past to see how the company came to be, where the company currently is, and where the company is going. Also if the company is a retail business, private organization, corporation, or educational institute. This gives me a general idea of how I want the site to look and feel. It lets me choose if I want calm, soothing tones or flashy, striking colors that provide stimulation to the eye and enjoyment to the visitor. Some of my work descriptions are below...
PINK'S PICKS
This is the very first website I created professionally. This was a unique situation where a client needed a website to post happenings within his fantasy baseball league. He wanted to establish a fun atmosphere in combination with catchy colors and no-nonsense commentary. Most of the visitors to the site would be other fantasy team owners in his league so tailoring the site around them was to be the basis. The site, started February of 2004, has provided week-by-week coverage of happenings in Major League Baseball and his own fantasy league. The blend of cool colors and oversized baseball along with the reflective "Pink's Picks" logo give a sense of fun with purpose.
SHEDS AND WOOD PRODUCTS
This site was a bit easier to design as there was a general idea of what the owner wanted customers to see on the web site. One of the newer sites designed (March of 2005), I had a good foundation of what would work in order for the home page to get off the ground. A classic New England feel along with cool colors provided a welcoming environment for the visitor and easy-to-use dynamic menus aided in the functionality and organization of the overall site. The owner expressed that he wanted his messages posted directly on the home page so that customers would immediately be introduced to what the business had to offer for the time of the season. The finished product allows the consumer to be immersed in what the company is, what it offers, and it's policies while browsing through the available stock of storage sheds and other lawn and garden accessories.
