A question offered rhetorically
Of which I've pondered endlessly
She asked me what might catch my eye
Of woman noticed casually
She laughed and said she already knew
Of things us men might notice too few
Mentioned legs, hips, breasts and hair
Eyes and lips and skin so fair
These traits forementioned
One by one
Became my focus
How come?
Legs were easy
Hips and breasts were too
We're creatures of our past
And our past answers quite a few
She needs to be quick and able to flee
Able to run and carry her youth
From the beasts who hunt
Claw and tooth
She needs to be able to survive the birth
Able to raise and feed their girth
Her lips and skin so soft and sweet
To kiss and hold and make complete
Eyes have plagued me through and through
I wondered from where the attraction grew
Those eyes invoke a different state
So precise and so inspiring
Whether they green like spring
Blue like the rain
Brown like the earth
Or hazel many shades
Eyes will never ever change
I've spent many hours to simplify
The attraction to a woman's eyes
One thing comes to mind
All things we cannot see
Can hide within the eyes
Attracted beyond physically
Starts when eye to eye
Without this bond
Hearts grow not fond
I marvel the simplicity
When looking into woman's eyes
You need not be surprised
She's looking into your eyes too
Now she searches within you...
