SERMON OF THE WEEK
"Straighten up - or die"
"Presant Government" -verses -"Millennial Government"
Isaiah 11:1-4 -13;11 -- 65:22-24
" And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse , and
a branch shall grow out of his roots. And the Spirit of the lord shall rest upon Him, the
spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit council and might, the spirit of knowledge
and the fear of the Lord: And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the
Lord, and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the
hearing of his ears.
But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity
for the meek of the earth: And he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and
with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their
iniquity: and I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will lay low the
haughtiness of the terrible
And mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain nor
bring forth for trouble before they call I will answer: and while they are yet speaking I
will hear.
I Must warn you as you hear this message (and I hope
you hear it in your Heart) You must be prepared to think thoughts you have never before
thought. As we go on however, you will see that the thoughts given you are of God and the
scripture, which is as always our guide and teacher.and proof.
Did you ever get a whipping from Mom or dad when you were young,
discipline it is called, I called it capital punishment. My dad used to tell me to go get
the switch he would whip me with and i would bring the biggest log I could find thinking
he would not whip me with that, but it never worked, he most always took off his belt and
that was worst than a switch i would have gotten, Dad always gave us a warning first. he
would tell us to straighten up or he was going to get his belt, and usually that was
enough to make us do right.
In the verses of our text The Lord is forewarning the people in the
future kingdom, to straighten up or die. And that is what this message is about. Notice
the statement in 11:4 "With his the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. and
another from 13:11 "I Will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease."
Some of you have probably heard a message like this, But I might say
something's that you have not thought about. The concepts and the philosophy we find in
them are entirely foreign to the modern mind. Including some Christians.
What is the proper way to conduct governmental affairs in our country
today???? And What are the answers to the troubles and conflicts of everyday life????
Our answer would have to be , " If Jesus ruled in person from the
throne of David in Jerusalem, He would rule right, He would direct the economic and social
affairs right, and solve the problems right No Bible believer would dispute that answer.
Then we must admit that if we can determine how Jesus would rule, we
will know what we ought to do today to make things better. Not that you will have much
success, but we could certainly try, to do better. And we can see how we as Christian
citizens ought to think and for what we should work in trying to be an influence for the
better.
We are going to look at how Jesus would govern if he were here today.
Or as he will govern in the Millennium Kingdom. First we need to deal with a major error
the last several generations of Christians have made concerning our relationship with the
government.
"IT IS OFTEN RIGHT TO DISOBEY GOVERNMENT"
God speaks of human government in Romans 13:1-6. "Let ever soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: The powers to be are of God. Whosoever Therefore Resisteth shall receive to themselves damnation.
Since long before I was born, too many Bible believing preachers have been preaching and teaching that every government and government official is put into office by God, That is a lie!! Do you hear??? " That is an Abominable Falsehood" Listen closely:
GOD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PLACING PEOPLE IN OFFICES OF GOVERNMENT, OR WITH THE ESTABLISHING OF KINGS OF GOVERNMENTS IN THE WORLD TODAY. WITH FEW EXCEPTIONS AND ONLY GOD KNOWS THE EXCEPTIONS IF ANY.
Do you really believe that God installed the wicked government of Russia A government that breaks every one of God's laws. Denies his existance, murders his saints. Do you believe God intervenes in the affairs of men in order to ordain sin and wickedness and then demand for his people to support and participate in that sin. "Well, you say" " You don't have to participate in their sin."
Don't be foolish! Of course you do. If you support all the foolish notions that all governments are ordained of God then you have to teach your children that there is no God. If you were to obey such governments then you would have to report all Christians so they could be imprisoned inform on all preachers so they could be tortured and executed. You would have to be in a position of having to disobey God's direct commands in order to obey his command to "Obey all governments and obey every ordinance of man.That is why America is in the shape it is in today, preachers have preached for years that we must obey our government according to Romans 12.13 and when the government makes a law that you can not preach on the streets of the city you quit. When they say you can not pass out tracts in the mall you quit. when they say you can not run buses to bring the lost to church you quit. Who do you think you are kidding certainly not God,. Those law are just excuses of the devil and preachers and workers use it as a cop-out, to quit serving God, and it don't all happen at once it the devil works slow and patiently wait for you to fall and then Bang he got you and you you Quit.
How would you "Teach all nations, baptizing them .... teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you,,,,,," If you obeyed the ordinances of Russia???
"'Well, I live in the US and it is not the same. You say. Well, Behold I have a revelation for you if you have never seen it in the Bible. This book The word of God, was written for the world not just for America, You cannot have a different set of rules for different countries. If it is true for America it is true for Russia. or England or Canada. It is true no matter where you are in the world.
How blind we as preachers have been for so many years. Good Godly men have stumbled at this area and have taught generation after generation. to accept this ultimately enslaving of life, All we have to do is to look back at our own country in the 60's and 70's If Christian had not been sleeping then we would not be fighting to have prayer and Bible in our schools today. We had a bunch of misled preachers, asleep at the wheel when Madeleine OHerea Got that law passed. We are now reaping the harvest of that grim results in America.I Know, The first thing that is going through your mind is, "What then does this scripture tell us"?? It is talking about the institution of government. The power God ordained is the general institution of Government Not each specific government office and magistrate.
God ordained marriage, But he certainly never ordained each specific marriage, for example he expressly forbids the marriage of believers to unbelievers. ICor.7:14. and he never recognizees the marriage of unbeleivers. He deems the children of such unions spiritually illegitimate, and to suggest that he does is to accuse him of leading people into a sinful relationship.
God ordained the power and institution of the church, but it is ignorant to suggest that every church is specifically ordained of God. He does not ordain liberal and modernistic churches, He threaten the Ephesus to with hold his recognition because they had left their first love. Witnessing.
I want you to listen to me and listen good, if you don't get anything else from this message get this, The highest power ordained by God in this world, is the authority of the preacher. In Hebrews 13: 7.17. He told Christians to obey them, and submit to their authority. Does that mean that we are to obey and submit to every liberal and Modernist preacher? No of course not. If they reject the resurrection and personal salvation by the Blood of our Savior, If they are not in line with the word of God, then you don't have to obey their whims. Israel was punished for obeying Balaam, a man truly called of God, and Balaam was put to death. Numbers 31:16and 31:8.
But God ordained the power of the ministry just as he ordained the power of government and the prophet is greater than the government. The defense and strength of a nation is in its preachers. II Kings 13:14 Jehoshaphat told Israel "Beleive his prophets, so shall ye prosper, II Chronicles 20:28
Some will say that the ungodly marriages and churches are not ordained of God and truly they are not. why??? Because they do not meet the criteria for that institution. WE know God does not put every marriage , church and preacher in place, but know God ordained the Institution of the family The church and the prophet.
You ask what is God Criteria for government????.
