This is The Dolphin. Known to some as "The Greek".
It is a popular stop off on the drunken saunter home in the middle of the night.
Perhaps due to the fact that it is the only place open at that hour. Debates rage
over it's actual closing time, but suffice to say, it would get people through it's
door if it stayed open another hour. |

This is Yates'. My mum thinks this is the best of the chippies in Penistone,
but who knows the last time she had chips from any of them. What I remember about Yates'
is that the chips are incredibly hot. |

This is Rusby's chips shop. Sometime's refered to as "The Shack", I think because the
building used to look at lot worse, but they redid it not so long ago. That choice of name
often causes confusion, as the local amateur dramatics place is also known as "The Shack".
This chippie is popular with the A-level students at lunch time. Every week I would go
for my chips. And get behind the guy who bought just about everything, and took ages about
it. Then get my chips and sit on the swings to eat them. And every week I would feel ill
and decide that swings and chips don't mix. |

This is the view Peter Holmes sees when he is at work. I mean, when he has time to
stare out of his window and not look at the meat. Like, if he looked out the window when
he was working he could chop his hand off or something. |

This is the view Arnold Roberts sees when he is at work.
Due to the complexities of the Penistone accent, Peter Holmes has become known
locally as "Pete Roams". As you can see, Mr. Holmes' butchers is right next door to
Yates' Fish & Chip shop. |
