| George Michael got into the record books in 1984, when he become the first artist to top the singles chart solo and as a member of a band in the same calendar year. Wham! were voted "Best group of 1984" by the British Rock and pop awards in america, "GO-GO" and the album " MAKE IT BIG" were certified gold on the same day "MAKE IT BIG" topped ONE MILLION SALES, and were certified platinum. CARELESS WHISPER reached number one in Britian, Australia. Belguim, Holland,France- and in every case it was always knocked of by " i just called to say i love you" by Steve Wonder. Wham! were the first and only pop group to play in china to date. Elton John (one of George's best friends) played piano on the final Wham! song. " EDGE OF HEAVEN" CARELESS WHISPER was written by both Andrew and George on the top of a bus. CARELESS WHISPER was also decicated to George's parents "Five Minute's for 21 years. Both Andrew and George decided to split Wham! in 1985 but the offical announment was not untill April 1986. Wham"'s farewell concert " THE FINAL" was sold out with in hours of the tickets going on sale George michaels's favourite song is" LAST CHRISTMAS" and Andrew liked GO-GO. On June 28th 1986 WHAM! had their very last concert at WEMBLEY STADIUM, called "THE FINAL. |
