What is the area of the Mandelbrot Set? The estimated area lower bound is 1.506335 0.000033. Read the latest results. 8/18/97

When I post or email, my sig (signature text) is a C program which produces an ASCII picture. Mixed in with the picture (of the Mandelbort Set) are my initials and, at the bottom, my email jay.r.hill at cpmx.saic.com. I use exact tests of a point to determine if it is in the period one cardioid (marked with H) and the period two circle (at -1, marked with J) which save a lot of time. You will my signature file and others in a collection of interesting sigs.

Read Dr. J's fractal bed time story "The Mysterious Fractal Comet" (about 1 MByte). 11/13/97
There are more than 100 recent adventures of Dr. J, including a new adventure nearly every night, see the Fractal of the Night .
