How Did They Started??

Well, they started out not knowing each other and trying out for Britain's X-Factor individually! The song Harry sang at his first audition was Isn't She Lovely by Stevie Wonder, Zayn sang Let Me Love You by Mario, Niall sang So Sick by Ne-Yo, Louis sang Hey There Deliah by Plain White T's and Liam tried out for the second time (He tried out in 2008 and made it all the way to home visits but got told he wasn't going on to the next level and he sang Cry Me A River by Michael Buble! They all made it to boot camp, but got told they were not going any further! Everyone was very, very upset and disappointed but fortunately Simon Cowel thought that they were too good to be kicked out that he wanted to put Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson as a boy band! He called all of them back on stage and asked them if they would like to stay on X-Factor as a group and get put into the group section! They all loved the idea of staying on X-Factor for longer, so they decided that they would take the risk and come together as a group! After they got told the great news, they spoke together for the first time, they asked what they were going to call their group when Harry suggested that, because they all wanted to go in one direction (to the top) they should call themselves that! They Loved that name, but little did they know that girls all around the world would be screaming and balling their eyes out saying it because they loved and admired them SO much or that they were going to finish off coming 3rd on X-Factor OR produce songs that would go number 1 WORLDWIDE!! Ever since they have become so famous, massive fans of One Direction call themselves Directionists and I am most definitely one! One Direction's first song that went number 1 all around the world is What Makes You Beautiful.

Turn back the clock to July 2010 and auditions for the UKs X Factor were underway. Five young boys from various parts of the UK and Ireland had entered the competition with nothing else but a passion for singing and raw talent. Their names were Niall (from Westmeath, Ireland), Zayn (from Bradford), Liam (from Wolverhampton), Harry (from Cheshire) and Louis (from Doncaster) and they had all entered as solo artists. Arriving to their individual auditions, they were given the task of impressing the judges. And they did. But just not quite how they imagined. It was during the Bootcamp round of the competition that Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh had to give the boys the bad news that they hadnt made it through as solo artists. They were devastated, but they were offered a suggestion. The judges wanted them to form a group; to learn to sing as a five-piece rather than individuals. The boys jumped at the chance and One Direction was born.
