Our Winery – My wife and I have taken on another venture that should start to produce in 2010. We have planted Frantenac Gris (White) and Marquette (Red) grapes on our property. We visited Napa Valley in May of 2007 and liked what we saw. We wanted to do more than grow hay and hunt on our land. We decided to make a go of it and dive in feet first.

The deer have been relentless on the new growth so we have installed a solar powered electric fence to keep them out as well as coons and skunks. We will deal with the migratory birds with netting. The pheasants even like to eat the grape leaves. We placed grow tubes (mini green houses) around the plants and bamboo stakes. Now to get the grapes growing and a winery building built.
