1870 Census shows "_____Evans - child Jesse Frederick Evans age 1".

1880 Census shows "_____Evans with son Jesse Frederick Evans age 10 in Sandhill area (Lenoir or Craven).

1900 Census shows Jesse with occupation as fisherman.

1910 Census shows Jesse and Sophia living in Dover with Jesse working in a sawmill as a shipping clerk.

1920 Census shows Jesse living in Greene Co. in household of Henrietta and Albert Sanderson (Henrietta was one of the twins) with occupation listed as market manager.

At the time of his death, Jesse was living in Warsaw, Duplin Co. He was 72 years old and listed as a butcher. He was burined in Bethany Methodist Church Cemetery (off hwy. 55 out of Kinston) supposedly beside Sophia, but no marker can be found.

Jelaine Worthington Dale had a son listed as Evan Evans. Mama (Mildred Evans Worthington) said no. Son Evan Evans killed a negro, disappeared and was never heard from again. Don't know if this story is true.

Sophia and Jesse Frederick were husband and wife and cousins.

Jesse married Sophia Alice West, daughter of Kinnian (Kinion) Terrence West and Teresa Watson, on 6 Feb 1884. (Sophia Alice West was born on 27 Dec 1856, died on 8 Sep 1916 and was buried in 1916 in Bethany Methodist Church Cemetery, Lenoir Co..)
