The William Jewell Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta's philanthropy is the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation which supports juvenile diabetes. The women of AGD participate in many fundraisers and philanthropic events each semester to raise money and awareness for juvenile diabetes. Some of our activities last semester included:

The Alpha Gam 5-on-5 Basketball tournament, which was a great success. The tournament hosted many basketball teams comprised of Jewell students, members of the community, faculty, staff, men and women. Every team paid an entry fee and received a free t-shirt. All of the money raised went in support of juvenile diabetes.

The 2004 AGD car wash was a lot of fun! Although it was raining most of the day, many friends, family members, and people from the Liberty community stopped by to donate money and have their car washed.

The Gam Bowl-A-Thon also  raised money for the AGD foundation. It was a great time to bowl, hang out with sisters, and spread the word about juvenile diabetes.

Since diabetes is the philanthropic focus of the Fraternity, large grants are given annually to organizations and individuals for research, care and treatment of patients, and education about the disorder.

The women of AGD also contribute and support the philanthropies of the other Greek organizations on campus.

The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation also supports our members in other ways.

The Foundation supports many projects which benefit both members and non-members. These projects are increasing as funding is provided through donations.

Endowed scholarships are available to undergraduate and graduate members, usually in a specific field of study or for members of a particular chapter. In addition to these grants, the Foundation provides a number of scholarships annually without a limitation on either field of study or chapter affiliation.

The Foundation supports the educational programming for undergraduate members, including personal development topics such as health, alcohol/drug awareness, scholarship, eating disorders and habits and stress management.

Other educational ventures are wholly or partially funded: the visits of Leadership Consultants to chapters; the services of Graduate Counselors; Convention programming; and the Quarterly magazine.

Leadership receives attention throughout the funding of the biennial Leadership Conference (TLC) for officers and advisers, leadership materials supplied to chapters and the Leadership Manual used by chapter officers and advisers.
