The Only One
Sometimes I feel that you're the only one
Who can ever understand me
The only one who shares my feelings
And my thoughts
You are the only one I can talk to
Who understands what I want from the world
You've taken the same path as I
But I wonder if we'll turn the corner together
You and I are so different
And sometimes we stand far apart
Our viewpoints don't get any closer
And we must agree to disagree
Sometimes I feel as if you're judging me
That you don't agree with my choices
My life is not yours to lead
My mistakes are mine to make
And not yours to analyze
I understand that you are just concerned
That you're just showing you care
Be my friend, not my conscience
And I will still turn to you.
