Almost everyone knows that Brad Pitt is a great actor who happens to be a huge hunk. What most people don't know about is his past and the road he took to get to where he is now.
Brad Pitt was born on December 18, 1963 in Shawnee, Okla. He has a younger brother and sister. Brad's father was a trucking company manager and always wanted the best for his three children. He wanted them to be respectable, honest, and hardworking. The three kids went to church every Sunday, where Brad was part of the choir. There, he gained a strong Baptist faith. Brad graduated from Kickapoo High School and then continued to the University of Missouri, where he majored in advertising and graphic design. Two weeks before graduation he packed up and moved to Hollywood. He told his parents and friends that he was going to attend the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Little did his friends and family know that Brad was looking for a life in the lights. Someday their little Brad would become one of the greatest actors of all time.
Before coming Brad Pitt the actor, he was Brad Pitt the choirboy, the table-waiter, the limo-driver, and at times, he wore a chicken suit for the restaurant, El Pollo Loco. Fortunately, those days didn't last long.
He began to take a few acting classes. With those acting classes under his belt, he scored a recurring role as the hormone-propelled boyfriend of Priscilla Presely's daughter on Dallas. He also did a really bad flick called Cutting Class, which didn't do very much for his movie career, but he walked away from the movie with a new girlfriend, Hollywood starlet Jill Schloelen. She wasn't the first actress Pitt went out with. He had also dated actress Robin Givens, and the ex-Mrs. Mike Tyson, which didn't work out for obvious reasons.
Finally in 1991, Brad landed the role that would boost his career, he played a horny hitchhiker in Thelma and Louise, responsible for Thelma's, Geena Davis, first orgasm. As soon as Hollywood had seen Brad shirtless, he was called non-stop.
In between working out that gorgeous body of his, there were women to be had, and the younger the better. He had a three-year relationship with Juliette Lewis, then 16, not long after the two starred inToo Young To Die? When that relationship ended, he took up another relationship with Jitka, who owned two bobcats and relocated to Brad's house. Jitka and the bobcats didn't last long.
Soon after, Pitt landed the romantic, sexy lead in the epic drama Legends of the Fall. This landed a spot for him in People magazine, where they named him "The Sexiest Man Alive." But Brad didn't want to only be known for his good looks, he also wanted have a reputation as a good actor. He has been successful so far, but he just can't ditch the Sexiest Man Alive title. Singer Melissa Etheridge even said that Brad could "change a woman's mind."
Pitt learned how to handle the press very well and gained some recognition for his movies, including A River Runs Through It, where he played your average golden boy, Interview With the Vampire, where he played a golden vampire. Pitt also played a cop, tracking down a serial killer in,Seven. As usual, he fell head over heels for his co-star Gweneth Paltrow, who happened to be ten years younger than Brad. Their relationship lasted two-and-a-half years, the last six months of which they were engaged to be married. The marriage obviously never took place.
Now back to his career. Pitt got his first critical acclaim and his first Oscar nomination, as the role of a mental patient in Terry Gilliam's 12 Monkeys. He played an I.R.A. terrorist in 1997's The Devil's Own, and then he played an Austrian journeyer with a German accent in Seven Years in Tibet, which many people have credited as the best movie of his career. Next, Pitt signed a contract to play Death in Meet Joe Black, a remake of Death Takes a Holiday. In 1999, Brad starred in Fight Club with another hunk, Edward Norton. This movie may have left critics and some audience members divided on the subject of the film, but everyone agreed that his six-pack has only gotten better with time.
Brad Pitt's latest film is the The Mexican, co-starring with the one and only, amazing, Julia Roberts. Originally, Pitt was supposed to star with his beautiful wife, Jennifer Aniston, but it was said that the two didn't have enough on-screen chemistry. This is understandable because once you share a house with someone, you get very comfortable. So the film turned out to be a hit, and us die-hard Pitt fans are waiting for his next film to make it to the big screen.
