Faith
in Christ.
This is the starting point. Young people will put their
faith in something. Some have faith in technology, in the
economy or in their education. Some still have faith in
their parents, others in their peers. Some have faith in
themselves, that they can make it alone. We envision an
army of young people who learn to put their faith in God
and do mighty exploits in His Name.
Involvement
in Church, Campus and Community.
People of faith should be salt and light in a rotting and
dark world. Youth who want to be on fire must be involved
in a local church, in their campus and community, serving
in any way they can. Church meetings are supposed to prepare
us to live out our faith in the real world. We can only
win our campus and community to the degree that we get involved
and demonstrate Christian leadership and Christian love.
Relationship
with Peers and Parents.
While relationships are important to this generation of
young people, many struggle with how to relate with parents
and peers. The vision of YOF is to help restore relationships
between youth and their parents. We also teach young people
how to relate with peers in relationships that reflect God's
standard of purity and holiness. When youth are on fire
for God, they know how to honor parents and how to live
above destructive peer pressure.
Excellence
in Everything.
When youth are really on fire, they will live all of life
for the glory of God. Everything from academics to athletics
will be done with excellence for the honor of God. Excellence
simply means doing whatever we do as unto the Lord and for
his glory.
