PROJECTS COST SHARING

Most communities have in the past been under the conviction
that the provision of services and facilities is the prerogative
of central government and non-governmental organization.
With this notion, central government or the donors were
expected to make all monetary contributions. Community
contribution, if any were the provision of labor. JEMI will seek
to reverse this dependency syndrome through community
participation, adequate training programs
and public awareness programs.

Most of the participating communities are rural and
urban dwellers who have no standard means of income
beside engaging in seasonal farming and petty business
(from-hand-to mouth). The income level of these agrarian
people are generally low and always face seasonal
employment problems. As a means of cost sharing and
community participation, JEMI shall inculcate special
artesian skills in her training programs and projects that
will enable the recipients (Participants) to use their skill for
construction, operation and maintenance of facilities.
The community must first identify the project from time-to-time
and nominate their people to be train in carpentry, masonry,
farming, arts and craft and other vocational-technical careers.
Female trainees will be highly encourage and train from the
grassroots level. Some of the cultural and traditional barriers
which excluded from participation in construction activities
are being gradually removed. Currently, we have recruited a
few specialized Liberian artisans who will provide your mission
outfits and galleries with exceptional African arts and craft,
designs and thus create a self-help community based
sustainable development programs. Some of these
splendid art works are second-to-non in West Africa.

In our project cost sharing approach, JEMI will seek
to demonstrate its ability in engaging in revolving
agricultural projects, wood works industry, establishment
of FM/AM radio transmissions, TV transmissions sites that will also
serve as the voice of truth in these days of global confusion
and uncertainty. JEMI will contribute to the project cost
sharing scheme by engaging local farmers and indigenous
group who are ambitions in seeing our vision come to
fruition. These local dwellers and owners of land in Liberia
are willing to sell/lease the first 10 acres for the rapid
implementation of our propose project, beginning in Liberia
and to other parts of Africa. JEMI'S cooperation with the
private sector could play an important and responsible role in
our development projects. In situations where it is apparent
that the public sector is incapable of achieving the defined
goals and objectives of the project, the private sector could
be encourage to expand it activities and influences. JEMI and
its associates are willing to combine their skills in engineering,
development and management of our different projects. JEMI
will employ contract farming which are link to privately
owned agroindustrial facilities wherein service center would
be linked through awarding contracts to farming units which
intern will receive import supplies, extension and service
through JEMI'S small and medium skills projects enhancement.
Our organization shall also utilize the integrated agricultural
development concept as an appropriate model in bringing
together the individuals and social groups together in the
communities to create self help development areas. This
concept involves land reclamation,
rehabilitation and improve production.

Agroindustrial facilities and supporting service will also
be established. JEMI believes that the agro industry which
is fast becoming a high-tech industry, is one of the
most important sector in any developing country.
