BEN GIBBARD

As the frontman for the band Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Gibbard made me fall in love with him. I couldn't help it. From the very first time I heard "The Photo Album", my first encounter with Ben, I knew from the first chord and the first note he sings that I had found the kind of music I'd been wanting to hear but could never successfully find. Arpeggiating guitar riffs, combined with fast complicated drum rhythms, and Ben's insanely beautiful voice (not to mention incredible range) make me firmly believe that this is the best album I've ever heard. Seriously.

Ben's put out an album of some solo stuff, combining cheesy casio keyboard beats with ukeleles and guitars. He calls himself All-Time Quarterback. Good stuff. He can also be heard on the new album from Kind of Like Spitting, singing and playing drums.
