After endless mistakes,

I ceased to spell Munro with an ‘e’.  The name Munro evoked the image of Marilyn Monroe and caused me to spell Alice’s surname the same as the late diva. Yet in actual fact the ‘e’ in Munroe is phonetically unnecessary. Continuing this train of thought, I found it possible to model Munro’s stories on the principal of necessity. Only the essential details are used, creating a clarity and calmness about her work
