CONCLUSION
|

Genetic research has provided insights about who we are or where
we come from, but even though it is a fact we inherit certain
characteristics, our personality, our behavior and our
temperament are formed after we are born, and all are influenced
by ‘conditioning’ (circumstantial) and ‘environmental factors’.
Scientists, philosophers, psychologists, they seek to answer a
wide range of important questions about human nature, like if
the mind can be used to heal the body; or what causes illnesses
and imbalances, for instance.
Ayurveda has never made this distinction between the physical
and the psychological. It believes both in visible and invisible
forces and can embrace science, medicine, psychology and the
spiritual. We are all part of the One, of a whole, and if we
learn to live in harmony with nature, with the universe, and
with ourselves, we will reach maximized levels of happiness and
health.
Discoveries from sciences and philosophy can help people
understand themselves, relate better to others and solve the
problems that confront them, because life itself is a remarkable
and a marvelous combination of science and spirit, always
defying logic and reason and always seeking for wise
explanations.

The author would just like to echo some of the wise messages of
the Upanisads (texts written in Sanskrit).
“He who knows both, knowledge and action, with action overcomes
death and with knowledge reaches immortality”.
“In him are woven the sky and the earth and all the regions of
the air, and in him rest the mind and all the powers of life.
Know him as the ONE and leave aside all other words. He is the
bridge of immortality”.
“Beyond the senses is the mind, and beyond the mind is reason,
its essence. Beyond the reason is the Spirit in man, and beyond
this is the Spirit of the Universe, the evolver of all”.
“ When the five senses and the mind are still, and reason itself
rests in silence, then begins the Path Supreme”.
“And when he is seen in his immanence and transcendence, then
the ties that have bound the heart are unloosened, the doubts of
the mind vanish, and law of Karma works no more”.
The world’s worst illness is a huge lack (absence) of love.
Let’s try to remember each day that we are a spirit that lives
in this physical body, and not just a body that has a spirit…
Our duty is to love ourselves, our planet and all the other
living creatures. If we could understand the simplicity of it,
we would live in harmony with the Universe…Which is the real
purpose of being here, happiness and total ecstasy.
