Jessie Vallejo and Giovanni Mera met as undergraduate students of the Crane School of Music. As a couple, they began performing in area recitals, Guitar Ensemble concerts, weddings, and private engagements around New York, Virginia, and Leon, Mexico. Mr. Mera and Ms. Vallejo premiered a piece commissioned by their fellow colleague, composer, and collaborator, John Paul Brabant. Their name, The Barrington Duo, refers to the main street of their upstate college's campus, where they shared many cherished memories.

Jessie Vallejo, Violin

During the last decade, Ms. Vallejo has performed as a soloist, and with chamber, collegiate, and professional orchestras throughout New York State, Virginia, Florida, and central Mexico.

Jessie Vallejo attended the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, a minor in Spanish, and a Performer's certificate. At Crane, Jessie studied violin with John Lindsey and viola with Dr. Peter Bucknell. While abroad in Europe, Miss Vallejo also studied violin privately under the tutelage of Luda Mesropian.

While a student at Crane, Jessie performed in masterclasses given by Orpheus Chamber Orchestra's violinist Richard Rood, and professor/performer Ioan Harea. She performed with a variety of small groups, and was a member of the Crane Symphony Orchestra for four years. With the CSO, Jessie performed in Carnegie Hall, and under the baton of Leon Fleischer. Ms. Vallejo was part of the Crane Opera Ensemble's productions of The Nutcracker with the Albany Berkshire Ballet Company, and the premiere of Dr. Paul Siskind's opera The Sailor Boy and the Falcon [ Potsdam People, Tufts] starring Stephanie Blythe. For three summers, Jessie worked at Crane Youth Music camp as a member of the faculty quartet, chamber coach, and counselor. Jessie played in the Syracuse Summer Festival Orchestra and the Orchestra of Northern New York which collaborated with world-reknown clarinetist Jon Manasse, and saxophonist Claude Delangle.

Prior to her university studies, Jessie was a member of the Liverpool High School Symphonic Orchestra, the Syracuse Symphony Youth Orchestra, Onondaga Civic Symphony, various string quartets, and a jazz combo which opened for Joey DeFrancesco.
