God's View (Cont.)
15 "Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbors,
pouring it from the wineskin till they are drunk,
so that he can gaze on their naked bodies.
16 You will be filled with shame instead of glory. Joel 15-16a

Woe: a serious affliction or misfortune; grief or distress resulting from a serious affliction or misfortune

God is saying here that he will bestow misfortune upon whomever gives drinks to his neighbors, just so he can get them drunk and see them naked. What Im showing here is that wine causes you to sin, and God will punish you for that. Instead of being filled with the glory of God, you will also be filled with shame.

34"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. Luke 21:34

Dissipation: overindulgence in the pursuit of pleasure by physical methods

Once again, I state that if we become to wrapped up in the passions of this world, we lose sight of the life God has in store for us.

13Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature. Romans 13:13-14

Debauchery: unrestrained self-indulgent behavior

NOT IN DRUNKENNESS. There. It is stated RIGHT there, that we are not to behave drunkenly. God also paired drunkenness with multiple person sex, sexual immorality, unrestrained self-indulgent behavior (lack of self-control in pursuing your own pleasure or satisfaction), jealousy and dissension. Obviously drinking is not an A in Gods book.

11But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat. 1 Corinthians 5:11

If God FORBIDS me to associate with a drunkard, dont you think that it is wrong?

19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

Sinful nature = drunkenness.

18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18

All of these passages can be found in a New International Version of the Bible. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

God bless you always,
Jessica

For the grace of God that brings salvation has been presented to men. It teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present day and age. Titus 2:11-12

19Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own,
20You were bought with a price purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
