| The two Axems standing over Bob just stared and blinked. Bob looked very nervous. BOB: You�re not going to�kill me, are you? AXEM INFERNO: No. Bob sighed with relief as Inferno hit him on the head with his axe and KO�d him. Ice looked at him. AXEM INFERNO: What? I never said anything about hurting him a little. Let�s just go see what�the king� has to say about this. Inferno said �king� with a sneer. The Axems Ice and Inferno walked to the throne room, where Axem H�0 would still be, according to Ice. Apparently the King didn�t leave the throne room on Blorkday until almost midnight. That gave the two another hour or so. Ice seemed to know the way pretty good, he lead them right to the room. The page that had announced Inferno and Rain a few hours earlier was still there. He looked tired and told them the King was seeing someone at the moment. A few minutes later a pair of Koopas came out and the page announced them. King H�0 looked surprised to seem them. AXEM INFERNO (thinking): I wonder if this is because he thought I would be in bed, or dead� AXEM ICE (thinking): This could be because he didn�t expect me to be on this planet, or it could be that he thought Inferno would be dead. KING H�0: Well, Ice, this is both an honor and a surprise. What are you doing on our humble planet? AXEM ICE: I came to see if Inferno had made it here and gotten the information he needs. KING H�0: You almost make it sound as if we wouldn�t have given it to him, but I�m sure that wasn�t your intention. Speaking of the information you were looking for, did you get it Inferno? I trust the librarian helped you find it quickly. AXEM INFERNO: Certainly not quickly, but I did get it�eventually. KING H�0: So now you may return to Earth. Why are you not resting? Surely you�re tired by now. The watery king had made Inferno�s return to Earth sound like a negative thing. AXEM INFERNO: Surely you know why I am not in bed. KING H�0: No, not at all. Is there something wrong with your room? AXEM INFERNO (thinking): Either he doesn�t know or he didn�t fall for the trap. I�ll have to try to trick it out of him again. AXEM ICE: He isn�t in bed because you hired some assassins to kill him, which they very well could have if I didn�t come. Axem H�0 jumped from his throne and shook with seemingly real rage. AXEM INFERNO (thinking): So much for subtlety. KING H�0: What? HOW DARE YOU! I can�t believe you would stand before the King of Aquador and accuse me of such. AXEM ICE (thinking): Is that real shock or forced? AXEM INFERNO: What I want to know is why? KING H�0: Why what? AXEM INFERNO: Why did you hire them to kill me? KING H�0: I didn�t. AXEM ICE: Was it because you were too scared to take him on yourself? I wouldn�t be surprised. That doesn�t explain why you want him dead in the first place. Is it because you fear for you power? Perhaps he or some of the other Earth Axems would rise up and take your throne? Is that why? Or was it because of your prejudice against humans? Axem H�0 looked a little startled at this. AXEM ICE: Oh yes, I know you try to keep it secret, but I know how much you hate them and wish you could rule them all and treat them like slaves. You didn�t want anyone to know that humans, even just one, could possibly stand against Axems, and even Smithy! KING H�0: SMITHY WAS NOT DEFEATED BY A HUMAN! Those pitiful creatures are meant to be our servants! There is no way one of them defeated the great Smithy! The Toad that had announced them gasped and ran into the hall, no doubt to go tell everyone what had happened. Inferno and Ice smiled, and H�0 seemed to realize what he had said. AXEM INFERNO: �Great Smithy� huh? Well I guess we know where your loyalties lie. AXEM ICE: And who hired those assassins. KING H�0: Smithy was not defeated, he will return! He will give power to those who continued to do his work. The free will was just a test. I couldn�t let you go spreading lies about him being defeated�and by a human. I�ve worked too hard to gain power to let the two of you ruin me now! I will kill you myself. VOICE: That won�t be necessary, my lord. Three heads spun to the voice, at the entrance of the throne room. Inferno and Ice gasped while H�0 frowned then quickly replaced it with a grin. It was Axem Great Water. AXEM GREAT WATER: I am sorry I failed, Master, but I will make it up to you now. You should know that the page that should be here managed to flee the palace and is rousing the citizens as we speak. We should do something about that as quickly as possible. KING H�0: Yes�of course. Axem H�0 pushed a button on his throne and an alarm sounded somewhere below them. KING H�0: Smithy�s loyal followers will now take back this planet for him! They are going to march into the streets and crush all resistance, as I will crush you two. It is earlier than I planned to move but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It just means I gain absolute control sooner. By tomorrow I will not have to listen to the foolish Assembly of Toads, or the Assembly of Koopas, or anyone at all! AXEM GREAT WATER: Foolish move, not killing me. You should have remembered I could heal. Now I am ready face you again, and this time with the ultimate warrior on my side, King H�0. Axem Ice rolled his eyes. AXEM ICE: I�m supposed to be scared of water Axems? He put stress on �water�. KING H�0: Your friend certainly should be. Axem Ice glanced at Inferno who merely raised his eyebrows and shrugged. AXEM INFERNO (thinking): No reason to let them think I�m scared of them, just because they have the elemental advantage on me. Besides, I�ve got Ice to cover my back. AXEM ICE (thinking): I�ll have to make sure Inferno doesn�t get hit by too many water attacks, I can take those a lot better. AXEM GREAT WATER (thinking): If I perform well, maybe the King will forgive my blunder during my previous attempt to kill Inferno. Maybe he�ll even make me second-in-command! KING H�0 (thinking): I�ll have to watch out for Ice�I should use Great Water to take those hits for me. Soon I will gain the power I�ve been trying to attain for years! All I have to do is beat these two fools and my army will do the rest. Then I can stop this foolish disguise of kindness and compassion. I will rule the planet, even more than I already do! Mwuhahahahahahahaha! The four Axems, who happened to be standing in a cross, each fired off an Orb of their own element, at the Axem on the opposite side from them The four attacks collided in the middle and cause a very large explosion.
