| Episode Thirty-Eight |
| The sun was low in the east, and Axem Inferno was getting ready for sleep. He needed rest for what was to come the next morning. He yawned, stretched, and lay down. AXEM INFERNO (thinking): Okay, tomorrow is a big day. I�ve got to get some extra sleep to be extra ready for the attack on�. uh�whatever that planet is called� Inferno put his axe down, within arms-reach of course. Then he closed his eyes and started to breathe deeply and rhythmically. AXEM INFERNO (thinking): One sheep�two sheep�three sheep� Moments later he was asleep. MEANWHILE: The sun was low in the east, and Axem Over Flame was getting ready for sleep. He needed rest for what was to come the next morning. He scanned the room for danger and lay down. AXEM OVER FLAME (thinking): Attack begins in 13 hours, 34 minutes, and 12 seconds. Rest classified as necessary. Over Flame put his axe down, within arms-reach of course. Then he closed his eyes. AXEM OVER FLAME (thinking): Take off every zig. Seconds later he was resting. MEANWHILE: The sun was low in the east, and Tarn was getting ready for sleep. He needed rest for what was to come the next morning. He scanned the room for danger and lay down. TARN (thinking): Attack begins in 13 hours, 34 minutes, and 12 seconds. Rest classified as necessary. Tarn put his dual Kipels down, within arms-reach of course. Then he closed his eyes. TARN (thinking): Take off every zig. Seconds later he was resting. ELAPSE TIME: 13 hours, 30 minutes, 12 seconds later: All of Pyrodor�s mobile troops were in the CC. Some technicians were sitting near some computer consoles. KYLE: T-Minus 4 minutes to attack. AXEM INFERNO: Okay troops, we are going to be the 3rd division. Bob and Diputs are ahead of us, Aquador behind. Our goal is to try and neutralize the Iondross blades. There should be a u- KYLE: Sir, we are receiving data that indicates Bob has just dialed up. The attack is underway. New information received. The blades have started to battle. AXEM OVER FLAME: Troops at the ready. Split into three equal groups once on the other side of the Arch, in order to cover more ground looking for a way to neutralize the Iondross blades. Platoons 1, 2, and 3 will be one group; 4, 5, and 6 another; the last consists of 7, 8, and 9. Platoon 10, you will divide evenly among the groups. KYLE: Bob has shut down their Arch. Diputs has now dialed. The troops relocated to accommodate for these new groups. Each group was large enough to defend from a small to moderate size attack. TARN: Logically, an experienced battle commander should go with each group. Inferno will lead group one, Over Flame group two, and myself the last. The three took their places in front of their groups. Inferno looked over at the other two, standing still as perfect soldiers. AXEM INFERNO: Over Flame, Tarn, which directions will we search? AXEM OVER FLAME: You go to the general direction of left, I shall go forward, and Tarn will go to the right. KYLE: Diputs phase complete. Initiating dialing. The Arch was activated, and the troops marched through. On the other side was a planet that was full of life and natural resources. Several mines could be seen, as well as a lumber operation to the left, with some farms and wells visible as well. There was fighting going on everywhere. The short stone wall meant to be used as a defensive structure had been turned on the Iondrossers. Bob forces were using it as parapets. The three groups broke off. Inferno turned left and continued in that direction. The forces from Bob were providing cover fire, so Inferno�s group encountered little enemy fire. What they did was quickly silenced. Inferno and his group reached the forest. TOAD: Sir, there doesn�t appear to be any sort of uplink center around here� AXEM INFERNO: I am aware of that. However, I just got an idea. If we can find some Rings like the ones on H�0�s planet, we can take over a blade by ourselves. Inferno led his regiment into the forested area. MEANWHILE: Axem Fast was standing in front of a large crowd. This crowd was mad up of the villagers who lived on the planet. Fast was trying to get them to fight, which was his personal mission. He had been given this assignment because of his incredible speed, giving him the best chance to slip through enemy lines. The villagers were reluctant to join. AXEM FAST: Axem Fast says, �Don�t you want freedom? Don�t you wish for the right to rule yourselves? Don�t you wish for a planet where your children are safe to run around, without fear from Iondross guards?� VILLAGERS: If we helped you, the Iondrossers would punish us! Fast was getting mad. His arms were waving up and down. AXEM FAST: Axem Fast says, �They can�t if they don�t rule you!� VILLAGERS: Then they�ll return and conquer like they did before! AXEM FAST: Axem Fast says, �Not with-� A voice interrupted him. VOICE: Bob says, �You must be punished for treason.� Fast turned around and saw an Iondross Toad brandishing two Kipels. AXEM FAST: Axem Fast thinks you are making fun of him. BOB: Axem Fast is right. NOTE: This is not the same Bob. Total coincidence. Got your hopes up, didn�t I? MWUHAHAHA! Bob pointed the Kipels directly at Fast�s torso. BOB: Well, let�s see you withstand this. Bob fired the Kipels with perfect aim. However, they missed. BOB: What? How�d you do that? AXEM FAST: Axem Fast is fast. Fast then ran up and hit Bob over the head, KO�ing him. VILLAGER: You...you�dodged a Kipel. That�s impossible! AXEM FAST: Axem Fast just did. MEANWHILE: A large temple like structure stood in the middle of a forest clearing. The stone was unlike any stone found on the planet, and the architecture was unbelievable. The serene atmosphere of the place was interrupted by a group of foreigners marching in. These foreigners were led by a firing Axem. AXEM INFERNO: Well, I think we found something better than an uplink center� With this we can actually get onboard one of the blades. They walked inside, passing many wondrous rooms and chambers. Finally they arrived at a room with a large circular hole in the floor. AXEM INFERNO: Okay, five of you jump into the hole. When you do, you�ll be transported to the blade directly over head. Five of his troops jumped into the hole. Inferno activated the Rings, as he had seen Tarn do. The five were gone. AXEM INFERNO: Another five, quickly! The process continued until only Inferno was left. He activated it and then dove in the hole. He made it just in time. When he materialized on the floor of the blade, his troops had already taken over the ship. The Iondrossers were in a prison cell. Inferno got up off the floor and ran to the bridge. NOTE: He was on the floor because he dove into the Rings. AXEM INFERNO: Main screen on. TOAD: Uh�. Sir? It is on. AXEM INFERNO: Yeah well, I wanted to say that. Quick, contact Strife�s blade. TOAD: Yes Sir. The screen suddenly changed from the space battle going on outside to the inside of another, larger blade. Axem Strife was sitting on a chair, commanding the ship. AXEM INFERNO: This is Axem Inferno, Captain of the Brighid. AXEM STRIFE: Whoa, when�d you make Captain? Inferno hit himself in the forehead. AXEM INFERNO: We just captured this blade; it is now on the allied side. AXEM STRIFE: Oh, cool. Suddenly a Toad on Strife�s ship spoke. TOAD: Sir, we just received information that the ground battle is complete. We have won. As long as we can win up here, we�ve freed this planet. AXEM STRIFE: Sorry man, but I�ve got to go. The screen went black. AXEM INFERNO: Main screen on. TOAD: You got lucky. The screen flickered on and Inferno could see the wreckage from several blades. The Iondrossers had only one blade left, but it was an Alpha class. AXEM INFERNO: Ahead, quarter speed. TOAD: But that�ll bring us right next to the enemy blade! AXEM INFERNO: But they don�t know that, now do they? The Toad grinned. The newly christened Brighid flew towards the Alpha class blade. The enemy blade let Inferno get inside of its defensive perimeter, thinking it was another Iondross blade. The Alpha class fired a large, yellow beam of light, which struck a blade and disintegrated it. Strife�s ship fired some Kidel blasts at the Alpha class blade, but an energy shield stopped them. AXEM INFERNO: Okay, we�ll probably only get one shot, so we should fire at their weakest point. What would that be? The Toad who was at the weapons answered. TOAD: The power core� It�ll make the ship self-destruct! The Toad fired, and since they were already inside the shield, it hit. A small explosion occurred, and the Alpha blade started to turn. AXEM INFERNO: Full speed away! The Brighid launched at full speed, away from the Alpha class blade. A communication came through, and the screen showed the inside of the Iondross blade. A large black Axem with a silver line running underneath his eyes appeared. UNKNOWN AXEM: You are on the way to destruction. AXEM INFERNO: You have no chance to survive, make your time! UNKNOWN AXEM: You will pay for this! AXEM INFERNO: All your blade now belong to us! UNKNOWN AXEM: Wha? AXEM INFERNO: Uh�Shut up! Suddenly the screen went black. TOAD: Transmission lost. The screen turned back on, and they could see a large explosion occurring. Strife�s face appeared on the screen. AXEM STRIFE: Great work! Now let�s party! Strife started to dance around, and it looked shockingly like a sick chicken on drugs. Inferno stared for about a minute then blinked. After a few more seconds Inferno shuddered. AXEM INFERNO: Main screen off. Please� End of Episode 38 |
