The Forgotten
Episode Twenty-Eight
TARN: Iondross Weve got to get some cover.

TOAD: Yes we do.

They started to walk away from the Arch. After a moment, they heard some people approaching. They dropped into some bushes and watched as they walked by.

NOTE: The fire elements can control their flames. Thats why the plants were not ignited.

The patrol that walked by was 3 Toads, 2 Axems, and one Jr. Koopa. The Axems and the JK were electric types. The patrol was then blocked from view by some trees.

AXEM INFERNO: So thats the problem?

TOAD: Yes. Lets continue.

When they crossed the bridge and walked onto the main island of Aquador, everyone (excluding the Aquadorian Toad) was shocked. They looked around and saw something horrible. The streets were previously crowded with eager denizens, were now virtually empty. Where they were not empty, groups of Aquadorians walked along. However, they were in chains and at the back of the columns traipsed some form of electric being, ranging from Axems to Toads and anything between. Even a Goomba was visible as a sentinel.

AXEM OVER FLAME: Oh my gosh

TOAD: We must continue.

JK CRIMSON: Will you just shut up?

AXEM INFERNO: Commander! Quit this insolence!

JK CRIMSON: Very well sir.

Junior Koopa Crimson glared over at Inferno and the fiery Axem suddenly gasped and clutched his chest. He felt severe pain in his lungs.

TARN: Inferno? Are you ok?

Inferno closed his eyes and cringed with pain. After a few seconds, the pain went away. He took a deep breath.

AXEM INFERNO: Yeah Im fine. I think I just had the hiccups or some such thing.

TARN: Well ok. Lets get going.

ELAPSE PLACE:

In a dark room, hidden within an abandoned warehouse:

TOAD: Last night, we were attacked

FLASHBACK:

The Aquadorian picket was not smaller merely because of nightfall. The Toad who would later tell thee Pyrodorians the tale was on duty. The Arch started to activate.

AQUADORIAN GUARD #1: All units, on guard.

AQUADORIAN GUARD #2: Who would be coming this late?

TOAD: No one good

The doors were wide open. After a few seconds with no travelers coming through, the guard slightly relaxed.

NOTE: Key word is, slightly.

A few more seconds passed and the guard eyed each other with an unspoken question.

AQUADORIAN GUARD #3: Whats going on?

In answer to his question, Kidel blasts started blasting out of the Arch. The Aquadorians began to return fire. About a quarter of the guard was taken out by the blasts. Suddenly the outbreak ceased.

NOTE: No one had come through to fire, it was just random shoots.

An eerie silence reigned for a few seconds that lasted an eternity. The silence was broken by the sound of someone exiting the Arch.

AQUADORIAN GUARD #1: Halt! Who goes there?

FIGURE: Your conqueror.

The response was mingled an electrical bolt that KOd Water-type Axem. An inundation of electric types flowed through the Arch. They faced no Kidel blasts because all of the Kidels had been fired and needed several minutes to recharge. The water blasts had little to no effect. The Kipels were more effective, but there were not enough of them.

NOTE: A Kidel is slower than the Kipels from previous Episodes, which only require one minute to recharge.

Several of the assailants were electrical Axems. One was kind of small, but he emitted an aura of authority. He appeared to be made entirely out of some kind of purple form of energy, kind of like plasma. In the place of his eyes were black slits. This was Axem Thunder Elemental.

AXEM THUNDER ELEMENTAL: Mwuahahahahaha! Foolish water Axems! Now I have reached Aquador!

Thunder Elemental used his incredible speed to dodge all the blasts, and shocked guard after guard. He was so fast that the guards could barely distinguish him from his afterimage. His electricity tore apart the Arch-watch, because of elemental advantage. He showed why he had risen to be the most powerful Axem from Iondross: his great battling skills.

The electric types easily dispatched the watery guard. They marched on the city itself. They swept across the planet like a dark tide. They spread as quickly as their element: electricity. More reinforcements and supplies (i.e. transport vessels) came through an almost constant rate.

TOAD: Ugh

However, the forerunners had missed something: the Toad. He had very nearly been hit by a Kidel blast. It had dazed him and knocked him to the ground, but he was fine after a moment or so. He dove into the ocean and swam to the city. He managed to find a few others lucky enough to escape the onslaught. They numbered about 100. This left over 99.99% on the planets population enslaved. One of the escapees knew that King Rain had managed to get a message to Pyrodor. A watch was to be set, in the event of assistance from their warm-blooded neighbors. Otherwise, the rebels would have to try guerrilla tactics (although their name was not the same).

The rebels decided to regain control of the Arch, if they could, and travel to a friendly planet, to get aide. The take over had been so swift and total that no word, excluding the message to Pyrodor, could be sent. They knew that Pyrodor alone would not be enough.

The Iondrossers were already setting up defenses and patrols. They were going to use the Aquadorians as slaves, to manufacture all their goods. This was the beginning of the Iondross Empire.

PRESENT:

TOAD: We desperately need your help. We cant hope to defeat them by ourselves. Only you know of our plight.

AXEM INFERNO: But we do not have the capability to free you all.

TOAD: No, but you can help get us more allies. Plus, we can at least free King Rain. Our group knows where he is being held. He will know where to get the assistance need. We must crush the invaders!

JK CRIMSON: Yes, we must.
