The Forgotten
Episode Twenty-Seven
AXEM H0: Vas preusar, criados.

Translation: Servants, go check.

A pair of Koopas ran off to check the engine room. This still left the three explorers hopelessly outnumbered.

AXEM INFERNO: You really are psycho, you know that?

AXEM H0: Blasphemy! You must die for that sin! MWUAHAHAHA!

TARN: Inferno

AXEM INFERNO: What is it already?

TARN (whispering): In three seconds, both you and Over Flame should step back about three steps. I think we can make it out of here, but I might not make it with you guys.

AXEM H0: Guards, quickly! The weak one plans something. Go!

Tarn showed a grimace at being called the weak one.

TARN: Now!

As Inferno and Over Flame stepped backwards like he had told them to, he dived in a differnet direction. They fell into a big hole.

AXEM OVER FLAME: Ahh!

Tarn hit a button on the console, and light immediately pulsed. He started to dive into the hole as well.

AXEM H0: No!

The Koopas fired off their Kipels, but luckily they only hit the console. Tarn fired off both of his Kipels, and KOd H0. The Rings came up and the three were whisked back to the surface. They heard one of the Koopas speak as they were transported.

KOOPA: Wha? This doesnt make sense. The Great Wet One was defeated. It ca-

Back on the planets surface, the three spread into a circle around the Rings circular hole. They did this in case some of the Koopas came down to fight them.

NOTE: They were in the Rings room during the entire conversation with H0. Only Tarn noticed this, but no one wanted to listen to him.

AXEM OVER FLAME: So, how long till the big bang?

TARN: I dont know. It might now even happen.

AXEM INFERNO: WHAT?

TARN: If those technicians get there in time, they can fix it.

AXEM INFERNO: And if they dont?

TARN: Sometime within 30 of your minutes.

AXEM OVER FLAME: Our minutes? Dude, they are everyones minutes.

TARN: Not according to Aquadorian time, or Pyrodorian time for that matter.

AXEM OVER FLAME: You think youre so big cause youre all right and stuff

ELAPSE TIME:

2 minutes later:

TARN: I got an idea! Lets work on 99 bottles some more!

AXEM OVER FLAME: Ok!

AXEM INFERNO: Please, no!

AXEM OVER FLAME: Well, if you insist How about 9,999,999,999 bottles?

TARN: Intriguing

ELAPSE TIME:

Approximately twenty minutes later:

AXEM OVER FLAME: 1,546,572,666 bottles of root beer. Take one down, pass it around, 1,546,572,665 bottles of root beer on the wall. Take it away, Tarn!

Inferno has his hands over his ears.

TARN: 1,546,572,665 bottles of root beer on the wall. 1,546,572,665 bottles of root beer. Take one down pa-

Suddenly a large boom resounded throughout the room. They ran outside and looked up in the sky. There was a large fireball in the sky, directly above the shrine.

AXEM INFERNO: Is that?

TARN: One way to check

He walked back in and attempted to make the Rings function. Nothing happened.

TARN: The ship is now longer in a geo-synchronous orbit above the shrine.

AXEM OVER FLAME: Huh?

AXEM INFERNO: The ship isnt above the shrine anymore.

AXEM OVER FLAME: Ahh So we can go home?

AXEM INFERNO: Yup.

TARN: Shouldnt we tell this people that they are free now?

AXEM INFERNO: Yeah, good point.

ELAPSE TIME AND PLACE:

Back on Pyrodor, some time later:

The three travelers had just come back through the Arch. There were a few guards, but it was now night, so the JK commander wasnt there. Over Flame sighs.

AXEM OVER FLAME: It feels good to be home.

AXEM INFERNO: Yeah. It also feels good to be someplace warm.

Suddenly, a figure started to run up to them from the distance.

AXEM INFERNO: Who is that?

TARN: It looks like Jr. Koopa Crimson.

JK CRIMSON: Weve got an important message for you.

AXEM OVER FLAME: What is it, commander? Did something happen to the defenses while we were gone?

JK CRIMSON: You better come.

They walked into a small building located on the ruins themselves. There were several computers and one of the screens was on. It had an audio/visual recording playing again and again.

TARN: Thats Axem Rain!

It was he. The message was a distress signal.

AXEM RAIN (from the recording): You must help us. We need you assistance immediately. We can only summon you, for we cannot reach the Arch. No other planets are within range of our telecommunication capabilities. I dont have enough time to explain, but you must come here, with as much support as you can muster, as soon as possible. We are being a- Who are you? Oh no! Theyve reached me alre- AHH!

He was suddenly electrocuted and feel forward. A grunt was heard and the screen went black. The message started to play again.

AXEM INFERNO: We must help him.

TARN: I want to as well, after all, Aquador is my birthplace, but we dont even know whats going on. I think its too big of a risk.

AXEM INFERNO: Lets put it to a vote.

The vote was a tie, so they decided to draw straws between the two choices. Tarn lost the game (although the straw process interested him).

AXEM INFERNO: That settles it. Were going. Oh, Tarn, by the way: HA!

ELAPSE TIME AND PLACE:

About one of our hours later, at the Aquadorian Arch:

The sun was shinning, there were no clouds, and it was a beautiful day. So beautiful, in fact, that it was perfect or so it seemed. Inferno and the others (including about half the Koopas, and JK Crimson, from Pyrodor) stepped through, onto the island paradise.

NOTE: The Arch on Aquador happened to be on the half of the planet that was facing the sun. The Pyrodorian Arch was not. Thats why they went from night to day.

VOICE: Welcome to Aquador. Lots have changed since you were here last.

They all spun to face the speaker, but it was an Aquadorian Toad.

TOAD: I managed to slip around the patrols by swimming

AXEM OVER FLAME: Patrols?

TOAD: Ive got to explain a lot. Weve got to hide while I do. They will check back on the Arch at any moment.

JK CRIMSON: They as in whom?

TOAD: They as in the one group of people we least want to come here: the people of Iondross.

Tarn, JK Crimson, and the Koopas gasped.

AXEM INFERNO: Iondross? Whats that?
