The Wings that Cross Time

After opening the door, you will find the Epoch.  Walk around it until people start talking.  Attempt to leave the room until the strange creature you saw earlier comes in, pushing what looks like seats.  This creature will give you instructions on how to use the Epoch, and even re-name it.  After that, hop aboard and take it for a test spin.  I usually go to the End of Time first to save and stuff.  When you're done at the End of Time, go to the Dark Ages.

The Terra Cave

Go west of where you land to find a tent like thing called the Terra Cave.  This place is known by me to have very expensive weapons.  I suggest bringing Frog and Ayla here, for Ayla's Charm will work wonders.  After talking to people here, you will learn that this place is for people with no magical powers and banished from Zeal.  The main point of this cave is to get a guru back, just like Schala said.  Go to the bottom part of this cave and you will go through many fights against Beasts.  Be sure to use strong magic attacks and charm them for some good defense items.  at the end of the cave, fight the two beast. guarded by the imp first.  Focus your attacks on one beast at a time.  If you don't, the beasts will team up on you with a big attack.  Once the beasts are gone, kill the imp with one of Ayla's Techs.  Heal back at the cave's inn and then go up the chain to Mt. Woe.

The Mountain of Woe

This place is home to some seriously bad monsters.  Try to avoid battles except for ones with rubbles, who give out tons of tech points.  Stay out of the path of Gargoyles because they can make your HP go down fast.  This place is pretty straight forward, with lots of side paths with items.  You will eventually go up a rope and as you go up it, day turns to night and you will go into a boss fight.

Giga Gaia

This boss fight is to save the Guru of Life.  The best way to win this is to use Falcon hit, a dual tech for Crono and Ayla, to knock out the hands.  Frog is good because he will Heal when necessary.  Once the hands are knocked out, keep hitting the head with you best stuff.  The hands will regenerate, so you will be in for a sorta long fight.  Once you win, you will find that the Guru of Life is actually Melchior.

A Long Sequence, Dalton, Schala, and the Ruby Knife

After freeing Melchior, there will be a long sequence where the Mountain of Woe falls, Schala comes, then Dalton, and Melchior gets his butt whooped.  After it, talk to Melchior and he tells you the only way to destroy the Mammon Machine is to use the Ruby Knife, which he gives to you.  You can't equip this sword, so you must carry it around.

The Return to the Zeal Palace

Go back to the Zeal Palace and inside the room where you fought the Golem.  Defeat Dalton using your strongest attacks and healing when necessary.  Be careful because he always kills off half of your HP.  Watch out for his final attack which will kill you if you don't bother to cure in this fight.  When he is defeated, he will say he is going to be immortal and makes a gate to the Ocean Palace.

The Ocean Palace

This place is pretty complex.  Here you will see a cameo of Masa and Mune again.  Don't miss the chance of a lifetime to be able to pick up lots of weapons and stuff to equip.  Your missions here is to step on 2 switches guarded by monsters and make a pathway to another switch that activates a door that leads to a long stairway that you must go through.  After talk to Masa, another sequence will happen with the Mammon Machine.  Then there will be a save point.  Then you have to go down an elevator.  I suggest using the Falcon Hit lots of times to make the battle faster, because magic doesn't always work.  After the elevator ride, step on the switch and go through the path.  You have to first kill the monsters and flip the switches on the sides.  I suggest you keep fighting the things on the other sides until Crono learns his ultimate attack, Luminare.  Anyway, you will have to fight the Golem Twins at the end of the path.  This is one of the Boss fights where you MUST save.

The Golem Twins

These things are pretty hard.  Start the fight by using Luminare.  This should stop the stupid iron orbs thingies that always reduce HP by 1/2.  Only use magic in this fight or else you're screwed.  If you brought Ayla, she will play as the Healer, using Kiss.  The Golem Twins will eventually die, and Dalton will be crying like a baby.  Go to the hall of the Mammon Machine and try to stop it!
