| Check out Jesse Bradford at the library, that is. Bring It On's Jesse Bradford, 21, plays the new kid in class, the outsider whom head cheerleader Tourance Shipman (Kirsten Dunst) falls for even though the two are pure opposites. Jesse pulls off the school outsider role so well, you know eteen asked him to share some of his own personal stories. So, we tagged along to the library where Jesse is getting ready for his senior year as a film major at Columbia. Jesse knows a bit about libraries....he used to work in one. 'I worked at a library for a summer, right after I got my drivers license....the summer after sophomore year. I loved it. The people were great.' says the connecticut-born Jesse. 'My main purpose of working there, besides to get money, was to learn my way around the library. I thought it would be a useful learning experience to understand how the library works and really familiarise myself with the system.' he laughs. Jesse my have been joking, but the experience sure helped him do well in school. Sadly, Jesse's career as a librarian didn't last long....and it was for fashion reasons, 'It was the hottest summer we'd had in Connecticut in years. I showed up the first day at work with shorts on. My boss was a great guy, he just said, 'Hey you know what? you've got to wear pants from now on.' I couldn't go back there next year, because I couldn't wear pants in the summer again. I couldn't stand it.' Jesse decided to concentrate on a job that doesn't have dress requirements....acting. His parents are both actors....mostly commercials or TV work....so Jesse had been exposed to the acting world since baby-hood. 'At the time when my mum was pregnant (with me), she was working a lot. According to her, casting agents in New York were just waiting for me to pop out....I was in a Q-Tip commercial when I was eight months....I did a couple other comercials after that. When I was four I tried out for a movie to play Robert De Niro's son and I got it. It's called falling in love. Since then I've just been working. It's always been there. It's been apart of my life ever since I can remember.' Jesse had small roles in 'Persumed Inocent', 'Hackers' and William Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet', but he had the best time filming Bring It On. 'It was a blast. It was so much fun to make. We all just got along so well. One of my top experiences so far. It was just a party every day.' he says. Jesse attually got a little carried away when he was filming a kissing scene with Kirsten Dunst....'There's this one scene where we almost kiss and there's this scene when we do kiss. At the point where we almost kiss a couple of time I just kissed her anyway. The director was going to yell 'cut' and I'd just do it, just to be a dork. So that was kind of fun.' he laughs. 'Everytime she would be like, 'AHH.'' next page. back to articles. |
