Since Jesse played the outsider, does he have any advice for teens who might be a little different?
'If you're different, keep being different. That's always been my motto. I just wrote down a quote the other day....'people should do what they want in the manner in which they see fit.' Don't worry about it. Everybody else will come round. It's there problem. If you're the new kid and still having trouble they just haven't seen how cool you are yet.'
When Jesse has private time he loves to play the guitar. His cousin, who's the lead guitarist in Splender got him started, but when it's time to study Jesse is all business.
'I go to Columbia's library all the time to study....It's easy to get books at the reserve desk where professionals put a certain number of books you need for the course....'
but sometimes that can get him into trouble....
'you get to keep them overnight, but if you keep them past ten in the morning, you pay a dollar for every hour, or something like that. And when you're lying in bed and it's getting closer to ten and you dont have class 'til noon and you are planning on sleeping 'til 11.30, but you have a book out, it's worth it to pay that for it. But if you do that enough times, you'll end up having a huge library fine like I have right now.'
Jesse learned a good lesson. You might want to keep that in mind as you get ready to go back to school.
But first catch Jesse in Bring It On, Speedway Junky which also stars Daryl Hannah, Johnathan Taylor Thomas and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen and in Cherry Falls with Britany Murphy.
