M.O.T.S. Launches Monthly Specials©
SuperShow Highlights SuperBowl 2001

Ready to rock into the 21st Century? Ready to celebrate the Silver Anniversary of The Spirit of '76? Ready for the Oh-Ones (as the Village People might say)?? Then get ready for Man-On-The-Street's year-long series of monthly specials, starting with the January 2001 SuperBowl Special.
SuperBowl Special 2001©     Recorded live in the Summit Studios on Sunday, January 28, 2001, the SuperBowl Special rocks in the 21st Century with some classic tunes, "Street" banter, and hilarity from George Carlin. And this January installment is the first of a planned 12-month series from M.O.T.S., celebrating the 25th Anniversary of The Spirit of '76.
"We're kind of paralleling 1996," M.O.T.S. said at a recent press conference, "where we celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Year of the Decade in Music, 1976. We did a show every month, for the first time in SupeRock history. SuperBowl Special 2001© When we realized that the first show in January 1996 was recorded on Super Bowl Sunday, and that date was the 28th, we took it as a sign (to do another series)."
Apparently M.O.T.S.'s engineer, Chuck Spacer, noticed that the Super Bowl in 2001 was on Sunday January 28th-- the same date as 1996, when M.O.T.S. produced his first installment of the monthly series. "We wanted to kick off the 21st Century with something special," Spacer said in a telephone interview the morning of the new show. "And with the dates being the same, the excitement over the Bicentennial being the same, and the Super Bowl being played on the exact same day - it was just too much to pass up."
The show blasts off with the #1 Spirit hit "Boogie Fever," by the Sylvers. "It is the 'Sylver' Anniversary of the Bicentennial, after all," M.O.T.S. said. It's followed up with the Top 10 Spirit smash "Devil Woman," (Cliff Richard), and the #2 Close-but-no-cigar Spirit "Love Is Alive," (Gary Wright).
M.O.T.S. also counts down the #1 Billboard hits from January 1976, with the promise to review each month's #1 Bicentennial tunes during future shows. Sylver Anniversary of
The Spirit of '76 The show is rounded out with other Spirits of '76, a Blondie shot from 'No Exit', and classic comedy from George Carlin. "It's rock & roll entertainment," M.O.T.S. said, "just like you want it from JerzyRock! C'mon, you know you want it!!"
The show was released on Monday, January 29, 2001, and is available on cassette tape and compact disc. Although JerzyRock is offering both formats, they still want fans to crave cassettes. "We know everyone will want the CD," Spacer said during his phone interview, "but there's actually a secret bonus that will be on the cassette. It's kind of a twist on those 'Bonus CD Track' things that artists have been doing since CD's became popular. Instead of encouraging you to buy the CD by offering a bonus track, we're pushing the cassette version!"
