| Decemeber 25, 2003 - Merry Christmas!! All quiet on the baby front. No more muscle pain. Enjoyed Dakota's first Christmas. January 1, 2004 - Happy New Year! We became a family of 3 in 2003 and we are looking forward to becoming a family of 4 in 2004! January 5, 2004 - YIKES! I'm 26 years old today! I'm getting old!! January 9, 2004 - Well the freak that I am woke up in the morning with no pregnancy symptoms. I panicked and cried to Kyle that I was terrified that I lost the baby. He dragged me to the doctor to help reassure me. (Good thing he can keep a level head or I would be in the nut house right now!) The doctor tried to reassure me that everything was surely fine but did an quick ultrasound to ease my mind. Baby is measuring right on at 10 weeks 2 days! What a sigh of relief. I was concerned because the heartbeat was measuring 179, which I thought was a little high, but the doctor said that as the baby grew, the heart rate would slow down a little. Crossing our fingers that everything goes well. I'm sure the doctor thinks I'm an idiot by now. I did mention to the doctor that I was having a lot of hip pain and she's referred me to a physical therapist. Hopefully they can help me control the discomfort I had last time. January 16, 2004 - I again ordered a doppler from Heartones.com! They have great costumer service. I was again nervous about using it and of course I panicked when I couldn't find the heartbeat! I was in tears thinking for sure I had lost my baby. I tried again the next day and sure enough, found the beautiful sound of my baby's heart beating away in the high 160s. February 20, 2004 - I had my 16 week OB appt today. I have only gained 3lbs so far. Yahoo!! Hopefully I won't pack on the pounds like I did with Dakota!! The appt was pretty uneventful, always a good thing! Baby was giving the doctor a run for her money and refused to stay still to have the doctor listen to the heartbeat. Luckily the baby did settle down long enough for the doctor to catch up, heart beat 155!! I was able to set up my ultrasound with radiology for March 8th, 2004. We are hoping the baby will allow us to take a peek. We are hoping for a girl, but would be thrilled with a little brother for Dakota to play with. The doctor did another blood draw to check all my levels because of my mystery illness in the beginning. Because the doctors have no idea what caused me to be ill, I will have growth scans about every 4 weeks after my big ultrasound to make sure the baby is growing properly. February 27, 2004 - Had my last appt with the physcial therapist. She helped ease my hip pain but the pain and discomfort in my pelvis that I had when I was pregnant with Dakota is back. And unfortunately, there is nothing the physical therapist can do. I have exercises to do at home but other than that I'm on my own! I'm trying to deal with the pain for as long as possible but my only other option is medication again. I hope I don't get to that point again. March 8, 2004 - I had my ultrasound. Baby was very cooperative and was proud to show its self off! Click here to find out if baby is a girl or boy!! Baby's heartbeat was 163 and weighs about 9 oz at this point!! March 22, 2003 - After much debate and indecision, we finally picked out a bedding set. Click to see what the new nursery may look like!! April 3, 2004 - Dakota's First Birthday!! April 11, 2004 - Happy Easter!! May 24, 2004 - See updated ultrasound pics. July 4, 2004 - Happy Independence Day!! July 6, 2004 - Had my first internal check. I'm dilated to 1 cm!! Yahoo! Let's get the show on the road!! I have weekly appts from now on. July 8, 2004 - Had my last ultrasound. Baby is head down and ready to go. He weighs about 6lbs 10oz so far!! July13 - Another OB check-up. Things going good. My feet have begun to swell but nothing too bad yet. Doctor said she would strip my membranes next week in hopes of getting me to go into labor on my own. If not, she is willing to induce me again at 39 weeks. There is an end in sight!! I'm 1 cm dilated. July 16, 2004 - I woke up with some pain in my upper back that made it really uncomfortable for me to breathe and I just wasn't feeling well. Kyle panicked and called the hospital and of course they wanted me to come in to be checked. The doctor thinks that I was having muscle cramps in my back and that's why it hurt to breathe. Baby was doing fine and I had a few contractions while I was being monitored. Doctor checked my cervix and I'm now 2 cm dilated! July 19, 2004 - Another OB check-up. Baby was moving so much that the doctor had a hard time getting the heartbeat. Doctor did another quick ultrasound to make sure he was still head down and he is!! Doctor checked my cervix, I'm now 3cm but she's able to stretch me to 4cm. She also stripped my membranes. We'll see if it works! |
