Metallica was formed in 1981 by James Hitfield and Lars Ulrich, the founder of Metallica. James read an article on the newspaper, The Recycler, that Lars Ulrich was searching for band members. David Mustaine was former Metallica lead guitarist, but the company kick him out because of personal behavior. That cause Krik Hammett to replace him up to now.
