The SCNA, Standard of Perfection of the American Serama as presented to the ABA for acceptance calls for the following weights:

Cocks - 16 ounces: with a 20% variance either up or down from this weight or 12.8 to 19.2 ounces or 358 to 537 grams.

Hens - 14 ounces: with a 20% variance either up or down from this weight or 11.2 to 16.8 ounces or 313 to 470 grams.

For Sales Purposes, I choose to break this down further into the following classes.
Micro, A, B, C & D

COCKS                                   HENS
Micro - under 9 ounces          Micro - under 8 ounces
A - 9.1 to 13 ounces              A - 8.1 to 12 ounces
B - 13.1 to 16 ounces            B - 12.1 to 15 ounces
C - 16.1 to 19 ounces            C - 15.1 to 17 ounces
D - over 19.1 ounces              D - over 17.1 ounces

Micros are a novelty only, and guaranteed not to reproduce, these are $500 per pair or $300 per individual bird. For those who want the tiniest of the tiny.

Class A - A class too, are virtually useless. They don't have the musculature to give them the full-bodied type required per standard and rarely are they viable or good layers.

Although approx 25% of the cocks are fertile, fewer than 15% of the hens will lay viable eggs. Class A go for $300 per pair or $175 per individual bird. I do not guarantee Class A Serama will reproduce.
Class B - Anyone interested in Breeding the Serama would settle for the B Class. These are guaranteed to breed and reproduce or will be replaced for the cost of shipping. Bs can and do give Micro and A Class offspring. Class B go for $200 per pair or $125 per single bird.

Class C - C Class Serama are excellent breeders, capable of giving B class offspring and smaller. Class C Serama go for $100 per pair or $75 per individual bird.

Class D - Any Cock Serama over 19 ounces and any Hen Serama over 17 ounces would be considered D class. These are given away for the cost of shipping.

Shipping and a new USPS Approved Shipping Container is $50. Birds are shipped USPS Express Shipping. In most cases delivery is made within 24 hours within the Continental U.S.

I DO NOT SELL SERAMA EGGS NOR SERAMA CHICKS, MATURED BIRDS ONLY. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GUARANTEE YOU ARE GETTING WHAT YOU ORDERED AND PAID FOR.

Dont be fooled into thinking youre getting something different when you buy serama from someone advertising MALAYSIAN SERAMA. 99.99% of all SERAMA in North America are descendent of the 130 birds I imported from Malaysia in 2001. Call them American, call them Malaysian, call them Serama or call them Tiny Chickens, youre getting one and the same thing. In fact, all of the people advertising Pure Malaysian Serama got their start from me.
