The Jernigan Connection Newsletter

Issue Eighteen                                                                  April 1999

The Checotah Jernigan Reunion is held every two years and on Saturday, July 3, 1999, we will gather again at the Fountainhead Resort Hotel on Lake Eufaula.  We are expecting our Jernigan cousins from the 1997 Reunion of Hulbert, Oklahoma, to grace us with their presence this year.
Committee Chairperson, Bette Stout at (918) 473-0969, has negotiated with the Fountainhead Resort to set aside a block of rooms listed under "Jernigan Reunion"  for check in July 2nd and out July 5th.  The block of rooms contain  (20) Doubles, (2) Captain/Admiral Suites, (1) HM Suite, one bedroom, and (2) Gov. Suite, two bedrooms.  Make your reservations early by calling (800) 345-6343.
There are other local hotels and facilities available. The La-Donna Best Western, telephone (918) 473-2376, and Days Inn, telephone "(800) DaysInn" are in Checotah, OK.  Fountainhead State Park has four areas for overnight camping.  Areas two and four are set up for Recreational Vehicles.  Area two only has electric and water while area four has full hookups.  You can make reservations at area two but area four is only available on a first-come-basis.
Debi Lane is wondering if anyone that attended the 1995 Checotah Jernigan Reunion has her pictures.  She seems to remember mailing them to someone but can't come up with a name.  Otherwise, Debi is in need of pictures from attendees to put in the scrapbook and is willing to pay for duplicates.  She is also looking for any memorabilia from the last reunion such as hotel receipts, fliers, etc.  Please contact Debi Lane @ 202 E. Maple, Stillwater, OK 74074.
