Jernigan Reunions 1998

Nacogdoches Reunion  for the descendants of Calvin E. Jernigan and Susan E. Bardin was held July 11,1998 at the Pinecreek Lodge in Nacogdoches, Texas.  Also in attendance were Marla Boots, Editor Jernigan Family Homepage; Don Jernigan, Co-editor Jernigan Connection; Jernigan Family Researchers: Kay Stone, Sharon Tingley, Barbara Stancliff, Ron Jernigan and Barbara Fowler.  This picture was sent in by Reba Powers and tells the whole story.  Next year this reunion will be held in Troy, Alabama, July 9/10/11, 1999.

The Cox/Jernigan Reunion was held in May 1998 at the Hagensport Community Hall.  Daughter of John Westly Thurman, Lillie Leota (Jernigan) Cox  ( age 90) was able to attend with her five daughters, Dorothy Haley, Elsie Smith, Elizabeth Hichs, Sylvia Dodd, Juanita Foreman and a son, Bobby Cox, 7 grand-children, along with spouses, plus 7 g-grand-children and 3 g-g-grand children.  Approximately 67 relatives were in attendance.  This is an annual reunion with the next to be held  Sunday prior to Memorial Day 1999 and presently planned to be held in Oklahoma.

The Jernigan Checotah, OK, Reunion countdown has begun for "Reunion '99".  The activities will begin on July 3, 1999 with organized games and lunch.  Chairpersons Betty Stout and Stephanie Johnson are continuing to plan the reunion and have booked a block of 20 rooms and 5 suites at the Fountainhead Resort on Lake Eufaula.  The block of rooms are reserved under "Jernigan Reunion".  Make your reservations via telephone (800) 345-6343 on or before June 2, 1999.

Jernigan Dunn, NC, Reunion  This reunion is held every year on the first Sunday in May. at the Stoney Run Church, located on Hwy 55 three miles east of Dunn.  This year it was held on May 3rd and the highlight of the Reunion was Marion Hargrove who spoke to 148 in attendance.
