Jernigan Tidbits    Births, Marriages and Other Items of Interest

Kylie Morgan Fears was born in Quantico, VA on 13 Mar 1998 and weighed in at 6 lb 8 oz.  Her parents are Wende and Cris Fears.  Wende is a teacher and Cris is a US Marine Corps officer.  The proud Grandma is Bette Jernigan Stout of Oklahoma.
Margaret "Margo" Glenn married Daniel Faulkenberry on 25 Jun 1997 at the Freewill Baptist Church in Lexington, OK.  Margaret is the daughter of Lynda Shaver, the grand daughter of Margaret Jernigan Dixon, and great grand daughter of Benjamin Harrison Jernigan.  She is now attending nursing school and Daniel is also attending college.  The couple are living in Lexington, OK.
Chloe Brook Killebrew was born  at Arlington, TX, on 20 Oct 1997 to Rena' and Todd Killebrew.  Chloe is the grand daughter of Jerry and Ruby Jernigan of Grand Prairie, TX,  great-grand daughter of Virgil Jernigan, and great-great-grand daughter of Richard George Lester "Judge" Jernigan.
Bailey Jo Harris was born 22 Sep 1997 to parents, Rand and Malinda Harris of Mesa, AZ.  The proud GREAT GRANDPARENTS are none other than our co-editor, Dixie and her husband Franklin Clonts.  Topping that story is, "Bailey Jo will share same birthday dates with her great-great-grandmother, Mary Jo Dixson."  Wondering how Bailey Jo got her middle name.
Jernegan Coat of Arms is described by Burke's "Peerage" as, "Barry of ten, or and azure; and eagle displays gules.  The colors are gold (or); blue and red (gules), with bars (Barry and eagle).  The eagle symbolizes one of high resolve, while the heraldic colors denote generosity, elevation of mind, sincerity, courage and magnanimity."

We have received several questions about how to become a subscriber to the Jernigan Connection Newsletter.  The newsletter can be delivered to you in two distinctively vehicles.

  1. The Internet version started with issue 15 and can be viewed and copied by anyone with access to Internet at absolutely no charge.  The newsletter is not copyrighted so you may copy or reuse any of the data.  Our payment is covered by kudos sent to us via e-mail.  Your critiques or constructive criticisms are welcomed for improvement of our effort.

  2. Hard copies are available though the Postal Service.  To take advantage of this method you must become a subscriber.  To become a subscriber, you can send your name, address, and the price of at least two issues or more ($1.00 per issue)  to The Jernigan Connection; 1918 W. Isabella; Mesa, AZ 85202.

The two versions are formatted differently, but contain  identical articles.  Hard copies contain more data per page than the Internet version since Internet pages require  formatting that is acceptable to browsers, operating independently and somewhat different from each other.  It's like a box of chocolates.  The Internet version runs about 8 pages while we can reduce the hard copy mail outs to six and save postage.  Back copies (Issues 1 to 14) can be obtained only in hard copy form.
