Mikala and Pyrotath The weyr that is home to Mikala and Pyrotath is always busy as Mikala is the weyr healer. On the ledge outside is Pyrotath, surveying the feeding grounds from afar, you guess.
"Correct. There are a couple of herdbeast that look quite tasty." You will never get used to Pyrotath's fascination with speaking to you. Why he does it you will never understand. "It bothers you that I speak to you?" a hurt voice asks. Quickly, you answer, "No, not at all. It just surprises me when you do." "Mikala is inside with Fara. The little ones had too much sun yesterday." Thanking him for the warning, and wondering who the little ones are, you venture into the weyr. There, to your amusement are two women fussing over a green and a blue fire lizard. So these are the "little ones." "I just don't know how I could have let it go so long!" an obviously concerned Fara expressed to the healer. "It was hot at the gather, and they seemed fine sunning themselves and swimming." Reassuring her, Mikala said, "Don't fret about it. Emerald and Saphire will be fine. Patched skin will heal. Next time let them help oil Innensith and they'll be covered by the time you're done." Looking up from her work, Mikala spots you, "Oh, no. Did you need my help too?" "I'm just visiting," you explain. "Pyrotath's checking out the feeding grounds from the ledge and he told me you were inside. Relieved that you do not need her assistance, she says, "Yes, Pyrotath has mentioned how he would like to feast on a couple herdbeast but I keep getting patients that need my attention." "If you would like to help me clean up the mess we made with this oil, we can let Mikala take Pyrotath down to feed," Fara offered.
