Holicka and Minaseth The sound of children singing catches your ear as you make your way past the well lit cave. They must be in the middle of their lessons with the harper, you think to yourself. Still, their song is warm and inviting so you enter. Inside, you find the group proudly finishing one of the ballads as they are led by a lovely young woman with blue eyes and light brown hair tucked behind her ears. On her shoulder sits a blue fire-lizard. Lorin, the headwoman had told you of the weyr harper, Holicka. This must be her.
Toly While you watch quietly from the back of the cavern, Holicka finishes the lesson and dismisses the children. She is the last to leave and sees you waiting while she gathers her things. "You must be Holicka," you guess. Smiling as she again tries to keep the short hair behind her ears, she replies, "yes I am. How did you know?" "Good guess. To my knowledge there is only one harper here, and you're teaching the children." "Well, that's true. Have you met Toly?" she introduces the blue. Then, not sure whether or not to ask the favor of you she shyly asks, "Would you mind giving me a hand with that harp? I don't usually have all my instruments here at once," she picks up her violin and small drum, "but we were rehearsing and I fogot to ask for help from one of the children." Eagerly you pick up the instrument and follow her out. "Thank you. I don't like to leave them here, but I can't have them practicing in my weyr. My only other option would be to call Minaseth, my white dragon, to come carry it all back to the weyr." "Your a dragonrider as well?" you pause in amazement. "Yes, I ride white Minaseth, and I teach the children their ballads- now that I have time. For a while there, it was all I could do to take care of Minaseth. Now, while she naps, I can teach a little." Reaching the weyr, you both set down your burdens. "Would you like to see Minaseth?" Holicka asks. It is then you realize that there is no dragon in the weyr. When you agree, she takes you to the sands where the proud white is fast asleep, curled around 14 eggs. "There she is. Sleeping like a hatchling after meals. She was flown by Blue Gereth. If you would like to apply for one of the eggs, go to Draconia Weyr."
