I've played role-playing games for decades - since I was introduced to Dungeons and Dragons by a friend when I was eight years old. Over the years, I've moved onto other games, but there's something about D&D that keeps drawing me back, despite the lousy mechanics the game was once famous for. Fortunately for me, the Third Edition of the D&D system (created by Jonathon Tweet, Monte Cook, and Skip Williams under the auspices of Wizards of the Coast) works. This is a good, solid system. I've run it through its paces with multiple gaming groups, and it has everything that AD&D 1 & 2e lacked (consistent skill & combat systems, balanced at all levels, expandability, etc.). Its also a simple system that doesn't fall into some of the things that I perceive as pitfalls for games that I like to run.
In addition to D&D I've loved other game systems over the years. TORG remains my favorite all-time system and setting for role-playing, and hopefully I'll get some time to put up some articles for it. The SAGA rules system (a card based system by TSR) was another system that I had a lot of fun with and may post something on in the future.
These pages contain links to my current campaign, alternate rules ideas, and other crunchy things for D&D and the d20 system.
