on the edge
look down
dust rocks solid ground
fathoms down below
turn around
shes standing there
her eyes
glaring
staring
my eyes
crying
turn around
hes standing there
in midair
reaching for her
not me
I want
to hold him
he is weightless
floating
turn around
she is gone
turn around
they
are
there

Rain

I curl into a ball, the rain explodes all around me
I shut my eyes.
A distant roll of thunder, I tremble
The thunder gets louder
I turn my head and look into the rain.
The world is a grey-black pool of saddness
Longer, louder
The wind stars
My hair whips into a torrent of insanity
Light rips through the grey blanket of a sky
Silently
The air tenses
The sky explodes with sudden, violent quaking
As my sould fills with tremors of pain and fright
Banished in exhile
The rain engulfs me
Nothing
Feeling nothing
But rain

Rocks

You start out, thinking it's ok,
Not knowing how deep it can get.
Your actions are different than things you say,
Thinking you've got it set.

But when it becomes something needed,
Something you can't live without,
Even thought the warning was heeded,
You do it, without a doubt

Over and over you were told to be wary,
'Stay away from it,' they say, 'You'll get in too deep'
You know it'll never get that scary,
A habit, that long, you won't keep.

But soon it turns into an everyday thing,
Your soul develops a filthier hue.
Not ever worrying about the terrible sting,
This penchant would do to you.

Your load gets heavier, day by day,
Another pebble to the mound.
You start to worry if it's ok.
Your life is no more so sound.

Since becoming a slave to the skin,
And not bridling your desires,
You now know, ths game that you'll never win,
Will wound you, not lift you higher.

Pebbles become rocks, rocks become boulders.
Unload these stones, it's a simple task.
Why should we carry all that on our shoulders?
When all we have to do...is ask
