| August 4, 2004 HAPPY BIRTHDAY DRAY!!! It's Dray's 2nd birthday today...although I have to say it feels like he's been here for an eternity! Oh well. And it's my brothers birthday today as well! We'll have his birthday party on Saturday, hopefully down at the camp grounds. Went to the store last night, to get my slot wall hung up...but it's still on the floor. I'm hoping tonight that it gets done. Trav abd a couple of his friends came to give me a hand...all for a case of beer! Can't get better help than that! My stock if finally coming in..it's taking a LONG time, but oh well, it'll get here when it gets here, and I can't open with a half filled store. I'm actually still trying to figure out how to make a "pen" for the kids play area anyway. My friend Joe G. Said that he'd give me a hand all I have to do is call..which is fine with me! So I think that he's going to get a call in a couple of days! Anyway, I better get going, I have to go get some cupcakes for the "fake" birthday party tonight. Pizza and birthday cake..mmmm what more could you want! So off we go, me and the 3 ;) Later July 28, 2004 So...is nothing going on in your world? Why haven't you updated your diary? Uh..yea I'm a pretty boring person what with my business gettin started, and my tribe of children...I'm just sittin on my ass eatin bonbons!!! KIDDIN! So my store is coming along awesome. It's starting to look soo good! I have to say that I'm really impressed. My friend AMY did an AWESOME job doing my logo on my wall. Sheesh, I told her to get into the graphic design, it's THAT GOOD! When i get my store up and running, and get my minimeyk.com site up, I'm gonna post a pic of the store on there. I'm SO IMPRESSED how it's turning out. All I have let to do is the counters, one part of the wall (where I put a hole in it with a piece of the slot wall trying to move it by myself!) the signs for outside, and steamclean the carpets, and then get my racks out onto the floor..oh and MAYBE just MAYBE get my clothes in. So I'm postponing my opening day. I figure if I go and open with a half store, could you imagine, you know how YK Is, "oh my gosh, I went to that new kids store, ther eisn't much there, don't bother wasting your time going there". That just does't seem to be what I want them to do! Anway. So in a nutshell, that's whats going on in my life. .OH and I just bit the dust takin my kid to bed, SOMEONE...spilled apple juice all over the bloody floor, and well I PAID THE PRICE!!!! UGHH so what happened Dray smasehd his head on the door frame, I smashed my knee and head on the floor and door frame...SHEEEEEEEEESHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Anyway, I guess all is fine seeing as we are both alive! SOOOOO email me let me know how YOU are doing! July 17, 2004. UGHHHHHHHHHHHH THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG PAINT!!!!!! SO I HAVE TO DO IT ALL OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 July 15, 2004 So, here I am painting like a mad woman...trying to get my store painted, get my till organized, get my puter set up, get my clothes in, my racks set up...and man is there ever a lot of work to opening your own business!!! My friend Skinny Fingers A.K.A Amy has been a really big help. She has helped me do most of the painting. We were there today for a bit, and i have to say we got a lot done. The only shitty part was that when I got my primer, it was one color, and then the second color that I got is really shitty at covering the walls. So I think I may have to do like 3 coats...which really sucks cuz it's very time consuming. UGHH. Oh well, it's just about done. I wish I knew someone who was a pro painter..yea my bro in law, he is..but too bad for me that he moved to calgary a few years ago! July 10, 2004 So I'm painting...if anyone happens to know a painter who happens to be off work, hey that would be great...send them to my store. I have to say the other day Amy, Dianne, Peler, and me were there and painted quite a bit. I'm going to have to go there tonight and go hard in there and paint up...I'd like a professional to come in and do the final coat..we'll see July 3,2004 UGHGHGHGHGHGHG I HATE CLEANING! I am in the boys room, and rearranging, and tryign to make it look like their little room is a lot bigger, and guess what..IT'S NOT WORKING! I am trying to organize their clothes, toys, beds, ughgghgh July 2, 2004 HAPPY BIRTH DAY Tanner Rodger Barabonoff!! He was born today and weighed 8lbs 8oz, baby, dad, mom and bro are all doing fine! I was talking to Raine today, and I said "I think I'd be a good surrogate (THANKS CINDY!) mother. I didn't mind being pregnant...not that I want to be pregnant anytime soon...or ever again for that matter! LOL...but if my sis wanted a kid and couldn't have one, I'd do it. Ahhh..that would be CRAZY!!! Anyway, before I jinx myself...LOL, I'll change the subject. I have so much on the go, I have to get a whole wack of stuff faxed off for the store, and I have some NWT gov't stuff and Fed gov't stuff to do before I open. I have to get on the go painting... and get my fixtures done up...time all of a sudden creeped up on me, and I'm feeling really pressured...now I'm stressing out...got my phone hooked up today, so I put a message on there, and ughghghgh...be back in a few! |
