Well then...I was born in 1978 in the wee village of Drevenack in Western Germany (actually, I was born in Wesel, which was the nearest town with a hospital). At the tender age of four and three quarters my dad's job took us to the beautiful city of Edinburgh, Scotland's bonnie capital. We remained there for seven years, during which time our family grew to include my younger sister and brother. Then it was time to return to Germany once more. Eight years later I had finished high school, and still missed Scotland so much that I made a bee line back to Edinburgh. There I studied at Edinburgh University for an MA in Scottish Ethnology and English Language (for those of you not familiar with the Scottish university system, yes, the MA is an undergraduate degree in Scotland). Not satisfied with spending four years at university, I headed straight on down to England, to do an MA in museum studies at the University of Leicester. I've also been spending an increasing amount of time in Washington DC, and managed to fit in two months living and working in Wales (Cardiff, to be precise). As a result of this I have trouble keeping people up to date with my current address, and an accent which no one can quite place (I like to call it my mid Atlantic accent - as in Scotland meets the USA somewhere over the middle of the Atlantic!!!). And if you're confused, don't worry - so am I!!! |
