| Things I like... Things that make me squirm... What I would most like to be remembered for... My anthology of poems which I will hopefully publish one day. And for drinking copious amounts of milk. If I could have any job in the world... I'd love to own a bookshop like Meg Ryan in You've Got Mail, preferably in Edinburgh. Or maybe travel around the world as a jazz musician (but I'd have to practice my saxophone more for that!) What I would take with me on a desert island... A copy of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, enough candles to read it by, and a cow that gives fat free milk. If I could be a character from a book or movie... No hesitation, it would have to be the wonderful, magical nanny Mary Poppins (created by P.L. Travers, and portrayed perfectly on screen by the equally wonderful Julie Andrews). Anyone who has seen the movie would covet her flying umbrella and that incredible carpet bag which swallows up anything from pot plants to coat stands. Imagine how cheap and simple travelling would be! If I could meet one person, dead or alive... For interesting conversation, the extremely talented and witty Jane Austen, especially to ask her how her unfinished novel Sanditon would have ended. For a date, it would have to be Emma Thompson or Michelle Pfeiffer (sigh...)! |
