"Hey. I am currently cleaning my bathroom, and it's all for you!!" ..nothing like last minute e-mailing with your host-to-be. i'm glad gene's excited about me coming to visit--i know i am.

the only sad pang that comes along with it is knowing that this might be the last time i'm able to spend a length of time with him ever. i only have next semester left in america. unless something completely neat happens, the most i can hope for is that i'll be able to keep in some kind of touch with my american friends and perhaps visit every now and then. sigh.

why am i doing this? what am i, stupid? (don't answer that!) i'm locking that thought away noooow. this is going to be fun, the future doesn't matter anymore than the past does, and that's that. i've got 6 days in the new jersey/new york city area, and they will rock, and that's that, and, and.. muahauha? muahauha!

let's see.. what are the plans.. okay, i need to get tickets to go on the tour of the nbc studios. i'm doing a research project for a class--i need to observe strangers interacting with some kind of media. so i figured, what better than having a valid excuse to go stare at fellow tour people's reactions to seeing familiar tv-sets? i have to spy on them and take notes on how they behave; are they excited, blase, weirded out? :)

gene got us tickets to see janeane garofalo friday night, and we must go to some new york museum (because that is so new yorky, apparently).. maybe Moma.. and i need to hang around brooklyn.. and revisit the village.. and then there's saint patrick's day (!).. i bought a green bauble bracelet at old navy for the occasion, no pinches for me! and i'm gonna see if my friend from the sam web board wants to meet up again.. rah! this will be fun. :)

even better, whining to my boss about how i'm going to have to make do with snapping pictures using my mom's old point-and-shoot crap camera did the trick. i get to bring Fraggle (i named it), the nice camera i used for all the other photography training i've done! i get to use a 28 mm lense (because we know i go nuts around pretty buildings), and an 85 mm lense.

he stuck about 6 or so rolls of film in the camera bag as well, so that's about 200 shots (!), and instructed me to get a few rolls of kodak black and white film, so.. heh. i will be a photographing fooooool. i hope. :) guess how worried i am that i will break or lose the camera, or that somebody steals it? gueeeeess? hehe, now add some more worry and that's about right. oh well. gots to practise, and what better environment? plus i don't have to pay to process the negatives. win/win for me!

okay.. it's about 2 p.m. .. i need to be by the greyhound station around 8 p.m... before i leave i need to shower, dye my hair red, shower, do a tiny load of laundry (i hope i have quarters!), pack (it's all folded up so..), check that i have tickets and passport 300 times, bring a book (still reading a beautiful mind), eat something, make sure the vcr is set to tape all my shows (buffy, ozzy show, csi, e.r., third watch, once & again).. that's about it..

sooo.. gotta go. i can promise pictures when i return next week, at least, and possible updates while i'm gone. and i still need to move to somabish! busy bee. have a great week! cin cin.. 1:59 p.m.
