"Back to school
Back to school
to prove to Dad
that I'm not a fool!
I got my lunch packed up,
my boots tied tight,
I hope I don't get in a fight!
Back to school, Back to school, Back to school!
Well, here goes nothing..."

although the song above really should be "happy birthday, because it's my dad's. birthday, i mean. today, he's amassed 60 of them. weee! or, as he said this morning, "yeah, 60--not much longer to go now!" .. heh. frrr. dad.
today involved a long, long lunch at a soup and salad buffett with my boss and marla. i could sit there all day munching on their foccacia bread and sipping soup. i stole about 4 handfuls of runt candy. there you go. bad jennie. bad. really.
i paid half my tuition and stuff. because, as usual, the money supply is small and limited and needs to be worked with gently, or the whole thing crashes. mmm, money. heh.
the queue was 40 pages worth of reading neverwhere long! and i had my card swiped in three different departments, so i am now able to get into my dorm AND to eat at the horrible, awful cafeteria. yey!
i found a dead rat on the steps outside the cafeteria. i won't speculate. but there it was, positively drenched, and very, very dead. it makes me sad to see dead things in bad spots where they can get further hit by vehicles, or trampled, so i asked the cafeteria staff for something to scoop with. i got a large piece of cardboard and scooped the dead rat off into an earthy spot next to the stairs, under a bush. mission accomplished.
of course, as i walked away i saw a very, very alive rat run down the stairs, next to the cafeteria. again. i won't speculate. but. heh. hrm. anyways.
and so, i'm back. weee. newspaper production starts next week. i'm already putting together set lists for my upcoming (i think?) internet radio show with the student radio station. yes. definitely back. cin cin! 7:18 p.m.
...
my boss asked me stay late and tape 'fresh air' off npr. i multi-tasked by listening to the show, and downloading another dozen tori live songs. it's getting disgusting, really. with 18 more gigs of space at my hands, and knowing where to look, my currently mp3 count stands at:
non-tori songs: 110.
tori songs: 105. (i would say 100 of those are live)
that said, i'd like to note that i haven't downloaded anything non-tori since november 8th of last year. it was cyndi lauper's "she-bop" ... yes. i agree. i'm a sad, sad individual. but a sad, sad individual with 105 tori mp3's! cin cin! 8:18 p.m.
