i went back to my room friday afternoon to take a nap and found half my roommate's things to be missing. i realized something big must be going on when i realized half of her 3,000 shoe-boxes were among those things. i think i spent a whole minute frazzled before shrugging and taking a nap. i woke up from shon opening the door.

"hey"
"yeah, hey."
"uh, what's up?"
"oh, i'm moving upstairs!"
"uuuh... okay? um?"
"yeah i'll be upstairs and my friend princess is moving in here!"

i suppose i should have asked more, but after the initial anxiety reaction, i realized the whole thing had nothing to do with me, so i just shrugged and turned on vh-1. so. i have a new roommate and her name is princess. yes, that's her real name. i asked once. she's seemed nice when i've met her so i'm not bothered much. besides. it means i can demand a bit more since i'm the oldbie in the room. i won't put up with her playing aaliyah's song age is just a number on repeat an entire night, or rather, -3- nights in a row, like shon did last week, i tell you that much.

i'm so over the aaliyah thing, heh, and repeat play of that song when i really really want to be sleeping is not helping matters. it has the most obnoxious, abrupt start.. so through the night i'll wake up to silence and then.. "AGE!! is just a num-beeer.." ... evil.

you know what else is evil? selling madonna's head on e-bay is evil... heh.

anyways.. so, i met up with gene yesterday. it was great, bouncing around chapel hill, being shocked at changes since our last visit ("whoa, cafe trio is gone!") and comforted by the things still the same (i can't believe one of the record store owners still greets me by my first name as if it hadn't been more than a year since i was last in there).

it was good. happy times. heh.

we ate cheese calzones at pepper's and scared the staff by regularly breaking into very loud laughter attacks. we're good at being disturbing in restaurants. i think my favorite was the following, said by gene: "i'm not sloppy, i'm just not careful." .. hehe, mr english major.

then we went and saw hedwig and the angry inch, which was great, really. the first thing i said after it ended was: "ohmyghod, i need hedwig's red glitter lipstick!" ... gene: "i knew you'd say that." .. heh. i like that i have friends i am predictable to. anyways.i need to find a MAC retailer. or better yet, i need to get a paycheck, but whatever. i'm going to be a fat hedwig for halloween. i'm already plotting how to make my own hedwig wig and berlin wall-wings. snerk.

after a cruise by gene's hotel room to watch tennis (i like the williams sisters) we continued to a bar we went to sometimes, and spent a few hours staring at people's often unfortunate clothing decisions (i know, it's funny - i have anxiety attacks about going certain places because i feel stared upon and judged, yet i turn around and do the very same thing myself.) and oogling pretty people.

and running into "philippe".. no, that might not be his name, but he is french.. we think. he's there every single time we go to that bar, and you can just tell he's french. one day we saw him 4 times at the most random places - at the library, on campus, in the middle of nowhere outside the city (we just drove out of the city aimlessly and there he was, miles outside the last spot we saw him, walking by the side of the road) and later at the bar. i'm not sure who was stalking who.

anyway. today we had brunch at bob evans with all the nice family units who come in after church. i nearly sugar o.d. on a stack of cinnamon hot cakes. sigh. and then gene dropped me off and left. boo. i miss gene. sigh. oh well. at least he gave me a huge bag of old magazines, like interview and entertainment weekly..current plan is to cut out as many neat pictures as i can and plaster across my half of the room.

i wonder what princess will think of the pretty full page picture of hedwig i just found...? pretttty. :)

eh. i've got some jellybeans to tend to at home. cin cin. 9:33 p.m.
