i picked up a book at random yesterday -- "paula" by isabel allende. it was written for isabel's daughter paula who fell into a coma some years ago and eventually died. it's a long letter writing down memories of their family, their history. i just wanted to say that it's really, really good. that's all. if you're looking for a good book with vivid language that makes you want to visit south american countries and about families and loss and passion, well, it's really good and you might want to keep that in mind. just mentioning it. i've got to get back home and read more of it now.
